it wont be much different, the benchmarks done with xbench are all showing around the same score, but if you do realy life benchmarks then the intel is faster

:huh: my iMac G5 scored a 77 the Intel scored a 56....

indeed, we also just noticed that the bus speed isnt 667 Mhz like Apple says it is.....its actually at 634 Mhz :angry:

Actually.....i dont think they said that :blush: in my system profiler, it says 633mhz...

geeezz what is it with ppl and trying to install windows xp on a mac...os x is so much better.

How many times does this question need to be answered? It is simply so one can run Windows apps if they are ever needed. IMO it's a great idea. Sure, I'd be using OSX 99% of the time, but if I ever needed to run a Windows app to which there was no Mac equivalent, then I would be able to.

Would the iSight work with windows msn when you are able to dual boot?

I'm sure it would be able to. As long as it connects to a bus that Windows understands, there shouldn't be any reason not to. The only thing is driver support for the actual iSight, but I just did a small bit of research and as long as you cancel out of the "New Hardware Wizard" that pops up for it, it will show up as a generic 1394 camera and will work on Windows.

gah i want my macbook pro :( I'm going to wait though possibly for a second generation so that either the predecessors prices go down so I can afford them, or they upgrade the specs on the current one for the same price. And well, I don't have enough money for them right now.

exactly, thats why if they are a resonable price when i come to upgrade i'd probably get a mac laptop.

If it runs mac osx and windows then that would be brilliant.

its all well and good saying OSX is superiour blah blah, but thats useless if the app you want to run needs windows!

I have a mac mini and think OSX is great, but at this monment in time i couldn't switch completely, i have a lot of programs/games that need windows to work!

there are many people out their who would love to try OSX but don't want to have to have 2 machines to run mac and pc programs.

If you can buy a mac but still run windows on it for those apps that need it then i rekon it will mac more attrictive to a wider audiance.

Face it apple won't be bothered about windows booting on macs they will be happy that they've sold the mac in the first place.
