The only thing sitting on the taskbar other than normal WindowsXP stuff is LClock, and I've tested with it disabled. I don't use Windows Media Player, so that can't be it. I typically run on Autohide, but I've disabled it for the screenshot, and the space is still there. The taskbar is locked. This is Black Compact > Compact Start Menu. The red is just to show the ~2px of space that I can't seem to get rid of.

Wow that's odd have you tried disabling Lclock?

Yes, my theme has been modified. Here are all the things that I can remember doing to it.

- Removed Start Menu User Pic.

- Shortened the Start Menu header to 24px.

- Changed Menu font to HandelGotDlig, 9pt.

- Changed Icon font size to 7pt.

- Changed Taskbar Top Gripper to 2px tall (from 4px).

- Reduced height of Taskbar Background image by 2px.

- Reduced height of System Tray Background image by 2px.

- Reduced height of Start Button by 2px.

- Thin taskbar mod detailed at: http://www.gfxoasis.com/board/lofiversion/...x.php?t802.html

The last four were done in an attempt to solve this "problem" which exists on a default installation of LE5. I don't really think this qualifies as a bug, but I'm still looking for a way to mod the taskbar so that those extra 2px go away.

BorgDrone, it is the default start button on the latest official version of LE5.

Cant the bold line be the problem?

If that isn't it it could be the font changing.

No, it isn't. Does anyone else mind posting a screenshot of their setup, using Compact Black/Compact Start Menu? It sounds like no one else has this issue, but I get it even on a freshly installed copy of LE5 with no mods.

Uh, lock your taskbar. That nothingness is the grabber thing to resize it.

Uh, no, it isn't. In Post 1003, I have a screenshot of the taskbar locked and not set to autohide. You can see that the extra space is still there on the bottom.

Haha, I'm lost then, it just seems as though LE5 hates your guts.

What icon pack are you running?

I have no iconpack. I use a custom shell modification script though, which uses icons from everywhere, so I'd never hunt down everyone to get permission for a release. Two of the icons in the screenshot are from the Elemental set by pAntoni, the Microsoft Office icons come from a pack on DeviantArt, the iChat icon is from the same place, and the connection icon was made by me.

Bummer. I don't think this is really a bug though, so I'd rather just treat it as a modification. I'd like to know how to mod this theme to get a thinner taskbar.

Why don't you just ask em3 for permission to release? That's not a hard task to do. I doubt he will have anything against it and probably include it on LunaElement.net...

Because if im not mistaken those buttons are taken from KoL's VistaXP, im not 100% if they're on other skins but i recall seeing them on vistaxp.

Nice mod, however, the Classic and Classiic Compact are both missing the red close button. At least when ported into WB there not there. Nice W Paper! Aleady had the vista sound but this is good for those that don't. Don't know how long the mod will allow your link to download as em3 has stated not mod's allowed for loading.

    • Weekend PC Game Deals: Anno 117, Final Fantasy VII, Rematch, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place every week for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic Games Store's mystery giveaways may have ended, but its regular freebies didn't miss a step this week. The double drop was for copies of Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks and The Ouroboros King. Speed Freeks lands for multiplayer racing fans, but with plenty of competitive shooting elements too. You will be piloting Ork buggies, tanks, and aircraft modeled after the popular tabletop miniatures while trying to complete objectives and pass finish lines. Next, Ouroboros King is a crossover between chess and tactical roguelikes, offering the chance to create your own army with special rules to beat incoming foes on the board. The double giveaway on the Epic Games Store will be available until June 11, and replacing it will be Citizen Sleeper and ROBOBEAT. The Humble Store brought a new charity bundle to check out this week too. Landing with the name The Complete Inkle Library, this is a large collection of interactive narrative puzzle games from the publisher Inkle. This begins with Heaven's Vault, four parts from the Sorcery series, 80 Days, Overboard, and Pendragon: Narrative Tactics within the starting tier for $9. Hopping up a step to the $12 tier gets you TR-49, Expelled, and A Highland Song for paying at least $12. If you go for the $20 tier, you get four e-books from the Heaven's Vault series. • When will the Photos app be updated to remember the window size and position when reopened? They addressed this issue in a 2024 version of the app (though I can't recall the build number). Unfortunately, after that specific version, the problem persists! Please prioritise this fix in your K2 schedule. Additionally, the Snipping Tool has lost the ability to capture the Windows Taskbar starting from the 2024 version!
    • Same, never saw it on Android or iOS. Guess only some people got it *shrugs*
