WCC beta 12 build 135 (16 Feb 2006)

- Progress bar issues fixed

- Some improvements and small bugs fixed

http://www.closetosoftware.com/temp/wcc12b135.zip

FYI: 3 steps to install beta 12:

1- install beta 10 (just if you don't have installed WCC before due system files). You can get it here: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail...e/1109367710/1

2- install one of the new fonts set (you have to create a "Fonts" folder then a subfolder for each font set, like the "Skins" folder):

Default font: http://www.closetosoftware.com/temp/Default.zip

Morpheus font: http://www.closetosoftware.com/temp/Morpheus.zip

3- Now you can test the last beta 12 build: http://www.closetosoftware.com/temp/wcc12b135.zip

Note: an installer will be made as soon as the font engine is ready, so wait for it if you can't figure how to install it out.

Have fun! :)

@carlos: with this latest built http://www.closetosoftware.com/temp/wcc12b135.zip i am unable to c any progress bar or title name.

In addition, please check:

1) you have properly installed at least one font;

2) "Skin Manager>Notifier Lines": the "Text size"

WCC beta 12 build 142 (20 Feb 2006)

- changed some procedures to avoid the gdiplus.dll error (*)

- if the notifier is set to be always visible, moving the case will move the text too

- small bugs fixed

(*) Go to "Options>Notifier" and uncheck "Show on mouse hover" since I didn't have time to review this feature yet.

Thanks you all for your great feedback!

For such case there'll be one of those 2 alternatives:

1) a set of extra fonts (I'm not sure who'll done the extra design work, let me know if you're interesting... I have the PhotoShop project)

2) a normal label instead the png: this is my plan but I didn't have time to do it yet...

Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks you all for your great feedback!

this version is a lot more stable than the past betas....great work :)

Show on mouse hover seems to be working for me as well

2 problems

1. I'm from israel now you change the fonts in PNG and not fonts in my computer how i can put hebrew in this?

I can make it for you, just attach the font you want to a post or email it to me. I've studied Hebrew a bit, so I'm familiar with it. Do you need vowel points?

Yochanan,

Before work on the Hebrew font set let me think how to implement that.

Initially, I can make an option to load an extra set (more memory usage). Doing so the extra set will begin with number "81" ("81.png") and you'll have to configure the "custom.ini" too so WCC will have the map...

Something like that.

But I think I'll need the GhostMouse help to test the feature since I just can't (no Hebrew title songs).

what i need to do? and i can send you song with hebrew title if you have hebrew in your computer :)

and my name is omri...

WCC Beta 12 Build 145 (21 Feb 2006)

- Balloon tip will not steal focus anymore

- WCC will read the height of the png font in order to better render it (not all font set has the same width and height)

- "Options" and "Skin Manager" will not generate the gdiplus.dll error (after Apply or OK pressed) if "Show time" is checked

Have fun! :)

WCC Beta 12 Build 170 (21 Feb 2006)

- Pinned to desktop issues fixed

- Skin Manager font size bug fixed (zero size for older skins)

Tip of the day:

Make progress bar (the progress part) transparent: just set the color to the magic pink (Red: 255, Green: 0, Blue: 255). Where? "Skin Manger>Notifier Lines>Lines composition>Line 4".

Have fun! :)

    • Still 3x what it should cost. So, it seems the trick is to increase price by 6x so that a reduction in price back to 4x looks like a steal. "You savvy shoppers win again!" I'm glad I'm not in a desperate spot to actually even need this overpriced crap. Hopefully, it comes back down by the time for when (or if) I ever do.
    • Although AI is great and has it's use cases they likely have massively overhyped it and it has not delivered as per their expectations. I fully expect them to start saying the same things again when it does get to a certain level of intelligence!
    • Microsoft wants to end printer driver headaches with Windows Ready Print by Usama Jawad A few days ago, Microsoft released Windows 11 Experimental build 26300.8553, bringing a ton of enhancements such as Start menu customization, search improvements, Taskbar polish, and other minor UI tweaks. Another relatively major enhancement snuck deep within the change log was related to upgrades to the Windows printing experience. Now, Microsoft has shared more details about these benefits. For starters, Microsoft has renamed its Modern Print Platform to Windows Ready Print. The company believes that this name highlights its shift in strategy, which now focuses on modernizing, securing, and streamlining the printing experience for Windows devices. Some of the upgrades present in Windows Ready Print have already been seeded to customers and partners. This includes ending support for third-party printer drivers via Windows Update and transitioning towards the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) and the native Windows IPP printer driver. In line with these changes, new printer installations will default to Windows Ready Print on eligible devices starting from July 2026. However, Microsoft recognizes that not all environments will be able to migrate to this platform immediately, so it will allow users to choose between installing the printer via Windows Ready Print or the traditional OEM process. Users will be able to toggle this configuration through Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners > Printer preferences. This control applies only to new printer installations, and its functionality can also be modified via Group Policy as follows: Launch Group Policy Editor Navigate to Local Computer Policy -> Administrative Templates -> Printers Find and select 'Configure Windows Ready Print driver ranking' -> double click to open it Select 'Enabled' (if you wish to enable Windows Ready Print driver selection) or 'Disabled' (if you wish to explicitly disable Windows Ready Print driver selection). Select Apply Select OK Similarly, if you set up Windows protected print mode through the same setting in Windows 11, it will also default to using Windows Ready Print exclusively. Microsoft hopes that these improvements will help eradicate dependency on OEM-specific driver installation processes and simplify printer installations. We'll likely find out more about other tangible benefits in the coming months.
