AOL IE6 & Proxy Setting Help Please

Recommended Posts

I am using a satellite ISP with AOL and to use a browser for fast browsing i have to use a proxy server.

Now when i enter the proxy address into either the Opera or Netscape browsers it works great.

So what's my problem i hear you ask, well i detest those browsers and wish to use my beloved IE6.

No matter what settings i try in IE6 it ALWAYS ignores any proxy

settings and continues to use AOL and the modem.

There isnt any settings to do with AOL in the connection tab i can change to force IE6 to use the proxy is there? A registry setting maybe?

Could anyone help me with a workaround perhaps?

Thanks, i'm stumped and need some help here.

No afraid not Episode, thanks for answering me, but i just dont see why you cant get IE to look at the proxy when Opera and Netscape work ok, the internal IE of AOL has no settings part for a proxy, just the normal IE in windows, it's looking more and more like it can't be done, i'm so annoyed not being able to use IE its very frustrating when the other 2 browsers have no problem at all.
