They need to get a GOW theme and picture pack out now!!!!! :D

I do believe one is coming Sunday. I could be mistaken though...

There is one coming on Emergence Day (this Sunday the 12th) for those with Gears of War. I'm sure it will probably be available to those w/o GoW as well, but I don't know how it's going to work exactly.

Defender Coming to Xbox Live Arcade

Defender, the Midway classic is launching on Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow, November 15th. This game features classic and enhanced graphics, multiplayer (local and Xbox Live) and 2 player co-op (local and Xbox Live), online leaderboards and 12 Xbox Live Achievements.

Defender is available worldwide for 400 Microsoft Points.

[update: I've just been told that this one's coming hot out of cert, and we?re still aiming to bring it to you on Wednesday on XBLA. However it?s probably not going to hit at our traditional time of 0800 GMT, but our team is working really hard to get it to you as early as possible on WednesdaySource: Gamerscore Blog

is it a gold member exclusive again?

I hate how they are pushing silver members more and more towards gold, at first it was just the same except for no multiplayer, but now you have to have gold to download new releases or wait a week or 2.. :(

To be fair they did say from the start that Gold members would be getting extra content over Silver. They've just taken a long time getting around to it.

I kind of wish they didnt make Game demos Gold exclusive though, videos and other stuff yeah but demos I dunno

Yea, I think it's stupid to make it Gold exclusive and I really wish they wouldn't do that.

To be fair though, I think they're realizing how costly the bandwidth is for 1GB avg game demos and they need to do something. So, if you think about it, you can't really blame them.

As long as it's eventually accessible to Silver members, then I think I can overlook it.

Drawing within Superman is cool! (Y)

Okay, I know that was lame. So what!?

I downloaded the demo and played it for a little bit. It was alright. It was a lot like the Spider-Man 2 game but with flying instead of swinging. lol

<~ idiot

^Lmao

The demo was actually better than I expected. Granted my expectations were quite low. However, I found myself playing it for a lot longer that I intended. Kind of fun to just fly around, throw cars around, pick up chicks and drop them in smoke stacks while they thank you for "saving them". It was interesting, but next gen it is not.

Well Microsoft isn't short of money and you dont see people paying to get their demos on PC

Usually because PC demos almost always have mirrors set up by different servers to help alleviate any bandwidth issues, rarely does a developer have to serve all the bandwidth by themselves. There are even whole websites made just for serving up game demos.

The 'Cars' demo is now available on the Marketplace now. Silver members will have to wait another week if they want to download it.

Stay away from this one, its pretty bad all round. Waste of bandwidth if you ask me

    • Google DeepMind published a document on June 18, 2026, that may be the most consequential admission yet from a frontier AI lab: alignment training alone cannot guarantee that AI agents will remain under human control, so structural containment must be built before more capable models arrive.............. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/318758/20260620/google-deepmind-ai-control-roadmap-when-alignment-fails-defense-depth-takes-over.htm
    • I've got a SoundBlasterX G6 that I use in my streaming setup. Sounds great to me and I've had zero issues with the ancient software package so far in Win11. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
    • How do you connect 5.1 Speakers to this thing?
    • I agree with both of you... It's absolutely imperative that science is completely based on actual proven facts and hard evidence and is not considered dogmatic in any way. Science is not a religion and it will never be, and that's exactly how it's supposed to be.
    • I'd basically agree. The only point I would add is to be careful not to treat science as a religion, complete with priests, dogma, and blasphemy. Humans are highly susceptible to religious-oriented ways of thinking since it aids in forming communities of like-minded people. The problem is that when this happens, nobody wants to be ostracized from the group by saying that a deeply-held idea is wrong. Science and "peer review" are not immune to this behavior, unfortunately. In the end, finding truth is our own responsibility and we can't depend on others to hand it to us. Skepticism is key, along with curiosity and the willingness to critically evaluate and consider ideas both new and old.
