[OFFICIAL] Xbox Live Latest Demos

What's wrong with it magik?

I don't know what it is exactly, but to me, it just didn't have the 'FUN' factor. Unnecessary cursing, pointless cut-scenes, corny one-liners and horrible looking graphics all attributed to the overall negative vibe I got from the game.

Battlestations: Midway Demo Coming Tomorrow, January 18th

Time it is expected bolded below.

January 17, 2007 - Eidos is releasing a demo of Battlestations: Midway tomorrow, January 18, on Xbox Live. The demo will feature one map, the Island of Solomon, and allow players to face off with American or Japanese forces.

The demo's objective will be to destroy your opponent's base, be it a naval, aircraft carrier, or air base.

Battlestations: Midway is launching January 30 for Xbox 360 and PC. The 360 demo will go live at 2:00 PST tomorrow.

Crackdown Demo Dated

Leap tall buildings in a single bound next week.

On January 23 at around 2am PST, you will be able to play Crackdown. On the official Crackdown forums, it was revealed that the previously-delayed co-op demo would be made available next Tuesday.

Yea, Battlestations: Midway is a great game! But you really have to understand the controls and understand how everything works to get the most out of it, otherwise, it's not fun, it's just frustrating. Unfortunately, Eidos didn't provide a single-player tutorial in the demo (there will be one in the full game) to explain everything. Thankfully, however, IGN to the rescue: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/756/756600p1.html

:D

battlestations is really good, so far only been the american shipyard controller, and one both times as that, i did try being the japanese planes but it was far too laggy to control the plane.

hmmm either im an idiot or planes are too hard to control that or its everytime im a plane the game is really laggy, last 3 games have frozen on me actually.

what am i doing wrong? all ive done so far is use the right analogue stick to turn left and its like flipped me and crashed me into the sea

or i lag somewhere into the side of the mountain!

wow this battlestations has made my xbox crash about 7 times in the past two hours now.

it just freezes but the music is fine lol :( good game though

It's not you. It's a combination of some poor net-code and some overall poor/non-optimized performance code. I'm fairly certain that this beta was based on an earlier build of the game and that the final game should be much more polished and won't have these problems. We'll see, however. It does have the potential of being a really fun game, though.

Crackdown demo is now available on Live! as of 5:15 AM EST. Demo clocks in at 1.24 gigs (or 1.23 don't remember exactly)

Happy downloading. I'll be posting this as news in a bit later on today as well.

It's pretty sweet, both single and multiplayer coop play. Limited to 60 minutes a pop though, but all in all not that bad of a limit (coulda been 15 mins yikes)

Graphics are very nice, the cell shaded look fits in well, and of course the explosions are awesome. I can't wait to level up my abilities (which is accelerated in the demo) and start tossing cars around. Haven't played MP yet, as there were no servers when I tried (I must have been one of the first to download it heh)

excellent, i have been checking for a crackdown demo for the past week or so!

i found the controls far too confusing for midway, i can imagine once you get into it to be a fairly good once you get into it though but not worth buying!

their were just times where i didnt seem to have any control over my ship...and it took me about 10 mins to work out why my sub wouldnt fire!

i found with the planes i had absolutly no control over them what so ever however, they just went spiringling down into the water

I?ve just downloaded this now, you can play single player and cooperative play over Xbox Live!

So far I?m not that keen on it, I thought it got boring very fast, no wonder there including access to the Halo 3 beta with:pinch:nch:

I?m going to have try and have a co-op game and see if I can get in to it.

Edit - sorry i just realised there's an [OFFICIAL] Xbox Live Latest Demos topic, my:whistle:istle:

i like the crackdown demo a lot, got the highest agility possible in the demo and it's pretty cool then, but I'm just wondering how long this will be actually fun to play. the missions are (so far from what I've seen) alle the same and it might get boring quite fast.

think I'll wait a while, ain't got money to spare anyway :p

    • Weekend PC Game Deals: Cyberpunk 2077, Split Fiction, Sonic Racing, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place every week for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic Games store brought along two games from wildly different genres this week for PC gamers to claim. Robobeat is a rhythm-based action game that lets you become a bounty hunter that can wall run, slide, and bunny hop around his opponents. All you have to do is stick to the beat for the built-in or custom songs. Next, Citizen Sleeper is a sci-fi RPG adventure taking place in a ruined space station. It uses tabletop RPG-inspired elements like dice rolls and timers to change up how players approach its activities, factions, and storylines. The Citizen Sleeper and Robobeat giveaways end on June 25. On the same day, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and Voidwrought will become the next freebies. The bundle space expanded with two more collections from Humble this week too. The June 2unes bundle is up first, carrying plenty of rhythm games. This carries Kill the Music and Rhythm Witch in the $5 starting tier, followed by Trombone Champ, Spin Rhythm XD, and Thumper in the $7 tier. Paying at least $12 gets you the complete bundle, which adds on Kalpa: Cosmic Symphony, Everhood 2, NOISZ, and Sixtar Gate: StarTrail. The next bundle is for virtual reality fans. This carries Among Us 3D: VR and Zero Caliber VR for $10. The next tier brings in Tactical Assault VR, Ancient Dungeon, and Arizona Sunshine Remake for $15. VTOL VR, Zero Caliber 2 Remastered, Metro Awakening, and Thief VR land to finish things off for $18. Free Events It's a big week for free event fans, as Valve kicked off another one of its Next Fest events. This one carries thousands of gameplay slices from upcoming indie games The promotion is set to run until June 22. Standard free events are also ongoing this weekend.
