[OFFICIAL] Xbox Live Latest Demos

Recommended Posts

Wow I just played VF5 demo for the first time. What a great big pile of s*** lmao  I played as Blaze and some of the lines he was coming out with were hysterical! The game looked great and plays well, but there was just no challenge and just felt really dumb imo.

Dead Or Alive ftw

Official Live GH3 demo tomorrow

by Rob Purchese

Activision has said that the official Guitar Hero III demo will be on Live Marketplace tomorrow, otherwise known as a day before my birthday.

We say official because earlier we told you that clever, maths-liking folks from Internet had worked out a way for you to download it already, then burn it to disc and play it on a normal, unmodified 360.

The demo builds up to a Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Weekend that will offer prizes to fastest fingers, and even let you shred-off against members of the development team.

The competition runs from 2nd to 4th November, and could see you walking away with a limited edition guitar faceplate signed by hairy guitar player Slash.

Activision will be popping the official website for the competition up tomorrow, where you will be able to find a full list of terms and conditions like if you have to be in the US to win, for example.

The publisher also stamped confirmation on the 23rd November date for the PS3, 360, PS2 and Wii versions of the game earlier today, although Aspyr Media is handling the PC version so we aren't sure about that one.

Pop over to our Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock gamepage to for all sorts of information about the game, like why it should be very good and not everyone is waiting for Rock Band.

Have to say NFS:PS does look pretty good, only two modes though, nitro challenge (speed challenge mode) where you have to get through 4 checkpoints with the highest speed. The other is grip (read street race mode)where you have to race against the other vehicles to finish 1st.

Overall as I say its pretty good, would have preffered to see how they do drifting this time, but maybe theyre saving that as drifting has always been a bit on the crappy side in the NFS series (IMO)

Eternal Sonata is so crazy japanesey =p It's alright, but the charecter flashes after every battle, which I dunno, maybe it's meant to do that, graphics kinda suck though and it's just too blah bluh phwaa for me, too crazy.

GH III is cool, even played on a 360 controller, as I don't have a guitar.

    • Too soon, I'm still not over this death!
    • Normally, I admit when a title is clickbait (unfortunately, it's become somewhat necessary in AI-dominated news sections today), but in this case, all supported versions is implied and doesn't need to be spelled out in the title. Of course, I'm covering a Patch Tuesday update but that is only available to supported Windows SKUs. All our coverage relates to supported Windows software and SKUs only unless we expressly state that it's "unsupported", "unofficial", or "third-party". I'm sorry, but supported/official SKUs don't need to be spelled out as such in every Neowin headline.
    • ALL versions or ALL SUPPORTED versions? Neowin does it again.
    • But the reality is it will work for people's needs, and they don't care about the technology that makes it. Clearly not everyone's needs, but that low end space where personal laptops were only used to type emails, watch content and browse websites, but they didn't want to do that on a small screen device. Heck, writing that out I can now see the connection and reason it'll do so well. Apple is about experience. If the experience is bad, they don't release it. Low end Windows laptop manufacturers up until this point have not taken that into consideration ever before, so slow laggy usage with brittle slimey plastic shells were common. I hope that the low end space at least creates better physical products that last a bit longer, and if Microsoft get their act together, they could also have a solid OS on such low end hardware that would actually make the experience work for what the hardware was intended for. The fact that the CPU is a "cellphone", sorry mobile phone processor is irrelevant. It's about the experience, and so far, that sounds quite solid.
