:woot: :woot: :woot: OMG! :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: I love this theme! even though its just a beta, im keeping it on for good! :D :woot: :woot:

okay enough smilies.

nice and compact, simple, and clean. it totally blows luna out of the water and even makes royale look ameature! (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y)

score: 9203540923509325 out of 10!

This is a very, very nice theme. it very well matches my miminilst (sp) needs. There are some feedbacks you might consider :)

- The scrollbars and dropdown arrows could be blended into the theme more if it wasn't black. :s

- Small, Compact Start Menu, please!

But other than those suggestions, you have done a very excellent job. :)

---------------------

After using the theme for more than 30 minutes, there are 2 elements of the theme which I don't like.

1) The start button.

2) The white bar below the taskbar (where the clock, start button, quick launch icons etc are located).

Suggestions for improvement (besides the elements I do not like)

1) Make default theme font trebuchet ms (just like XPMC)

2) Black window scrolling bar - perhaps could change color to blue, or cream? Also applies to the selected button (black, unless mouse hovering above).

---------------------

Anyway, fine work b0se, keep it up!

---------------------

Ross did say the fonts weren't final...

I must admit though I did like the font that was used in the original screenshot...:)

I realise were still in a beta stage here Ross...the only 'bug' I've come

across was when using 'crapcleaner'

cc7ff.png

the button on the left normally has the text 'analyze' on it...but hey I can live with it.

awesome work as always buddy...you're still my number one choice for styles...:)

Lets just say there are at least 800 elements to the gui itself, add another 100 or so for each app skin...it gets a little easier with each SS and tpark update though.

And it still cant skin unified windows. Just reverts them to normal windows

And this theme is great, love everythin about the taskbar unlike a few people (minus the whole grouping bug). You always pick the best shade of blue and thats why I can use all of your themes (from when I first started using em, OpusOS onwards).

I think the orange line on the bottom of the columns. They look out of place. Perhaps they'd look better if the the orange line appeared only when the column was hovered on (like Opus OS).

Clipboard012.gif

Please don't touch that orange line!!! It's one of the best elements in this vs!!!

Suggestions:

1. The line under taskbar gives it a nice look, don't change it.

2. The tray expansion button needs work, doesn't quite blend in. Maybe should be like the button used in start menu for "All programs".

3. The circle for "Maximize" button was nicer. The box variant is too dull.

4. I have desktop toolbar on the taskbar, "Desktop" is typed in light blue, should be white or lighter blue, easier for eyes.

5. "All programs" list is too dark, might look better in same shade as inactive windows.

6. The X on "Close" button should be centered imo.

This is the most waited VS ever for me. The orange one will be a hit.

Keep up the good work!

I 100% agree that this is possibly the best vs ever.

if you could make a version without so much gloss on the taskbar, that would be awesome.

I only found one bug, when you have the taskbar at the top and its unlocked, the movable bar is the same color as luna. Sorry if this has already been reported, or if this is a known bug.

Please consider a version without gloss.

Great theme BTW.

    • Alpine Linux 3.24 released with support for COSMIC Desktop and other improvements by David Uzondu Alpine Linux 3.24 has been released with updated system packages, including Linux kernel 6.18 and Rust 1.96. The team also added IPv6 support to the system installer, and they introduced automatic serial console configuration for headless setups. System76's COSMIC desktop environment is now available in the community repo. System76 originally started building this DE because its developers found GNOME to be pretty limited. Plus, it did not help that with virtually every GNOME update, the changes broke System76's custom desktop extensions. As for system packages, the Alpine team moved GTK+ 3.0 from the main repository to the community repository due to its legacy status. py3-setuptools has been upgraded to version 82.0.0, while the old pkg_resources module has been completely dropped. The team also removed outdated packages that still relied on py3-six and GTK+ 2.0. In addition to that, libsoup 2 has been removed because the library was affected by multiple security vulnerabilities. If you're a GRUB user, the Alpine Team said that you must manually run the grub-install command with your specific device or EFI options right after upgrading your system, otherwise, your computer may fail to boot properly with the newly updated GRUB 2.14 bootloader. New installations of Alpine Linux now offer an optional path to a /usr-merged directory layout if you set the BOOTSTRAP_USR_MERGED environment variable to 1 before you execute the setup-disk command. If you already run an older installation, you can migrate manually by installing the merge-usr package and executing its binary as the root user. The team recommends this layout to align Alpine with modern Linux standards, though you should verify your custom scripts before making the switch. Alpine Linux is a pretty tiny (~5MB) Linux distro built around musl libc, BusyBox, and OpenRC. It's been around since 2005, comes with its own package manager called Alpine Package Keeper (APK), and is widely used in modern cloud computing and software deployment.
