Man, that's just total ownage by the DS. Even the regular one is killing the PSP :p

Also, everyone that bought a DS probably bought at least one game as well. Nintendo just made a sh^tload of money this week. And MP: Hunters and Tetris DS are coming out in a couple of days. Those are some games that can sell consoles. I can only see higher numbers for next week if Nintendo can keep up with demand.

^ or they might be purchasing it to support Sony's sale numbers? You know they have lot of disposable money. It could also be many people are buying the newer smaller version of PS2 to replace their old big one.

"I've got $300 to spend. Hm... let's see... I'll buy another PS2 and put it in the closet with the 15 other PS2s! Hail Sony!"

Final Fantasy XII came out last week in Japan...

FFXII sold 1,764,266 units. The 2nd highest selling game for the week was Animal Crossing DS, selling just 70,932 units. I guess there were actually some people who still hadn't bought a PS2...? :pinch:

The fact of the matter is that there are plenty of non-gamers who don't have a PS2 yet, who are just now getting lured to it due to its reduced price, new thin design, and good games.

Only a limited few hard core gamers re-buy their PS2 for the new design, and even fewer buy it just to support Sony. Hardly enough to make a difference in sales figures, unless the sales figure is in the range of the xbox

DSL is still kicking ass, even with the new FFXII out.

Wow, The PS2 certaintly gave a hard right to the Nintendo DS. And then the new kid on the block kicks it in the bollocks and runs

I'm surprised DSL and DS sales are being kept seperate, Nintendo usually bundles the GBA, SP and Micro under the same heading.

  • 2 weeks later...

what's strange to me is that they sell so much nintendo stuff overthere and that overhere, the things i see on the street or train or whatever are psp... the only dss i've seen for real are those on display in the shops...

why are western ppl so focused on graphical bruhaha? do eastern ppl feel the gameplay is more important than the way how it looks, and why don't we?

its because nintendo have a lot of dateing sims for their hand helds and with the new touch ones they gunna have a whole lot more but in june sales will slow up

its because nintendo have a lot of dateing sims for their hand helds and with the new touch ones they gunna have a whole lot more but in june sales will slow up

Do you even know what you're talking about?

It's because of their non-games like Brain Training, Nintendogs, and Animal Crossing that the DS is selling like hot cakes.

    • I’m still using an Xbox One S, so time for an upgrade to play this but as much as I hate Sony, I think I’ll get the ps5 pro
    • I bought this game. Played it for an hour, and then got a refund from Steam. Not a fun game at all.
