PS3 finally outselling PS2? (Not by much)

I always thought the PS2 was still doing better in Japan.

I always had a feeling the Elite would kick sales up a bit. Due to the HDMI and bigger HDD alone, I figured Japan, which should have more gamers with HDTVs than the US would buy the Elite more.

Yeah, but without the bigger 120GB HDD. Though you could just upgrade your 20GB. Either way, it did help sales a tiny bit.

With quite a dramatic reduction in price of both the PS3 and the 360, we should be seeing quite a increase in the next couple of weeks.

The Japanese 360 bundle with viva pineata and forza 2 (and guaranteed HDMI) going for US$280 is a STEAL.

It just shows that all they need is games that japan will like, and it'll sell. Also slashing the price helps.
