You may have to reset the access point back to factory settings, the person who set it up may have changed its default ip address. There should be a reset button somewhere on it.

how do you reset it?

i couldn't do it.. do i have to hold it for a certain amout of time?

I have never owned a Linksys one, but I have got a Belkin and D-Link access point and they have a little button that you need to use a pen or the like to push it in.

I nomally push it and hold it in for about 10 seconds.

It should be in the manual on how to reset it.

In theory if your computer is pulling a dhcp address from it, the router should be your default gateway. Check your Network Settings and try to connect using the IP noted as the default gateway. If you cannot connect to it with a browser using http then also try https, as some routers allow for https to be used.

Also, I think G4M3R is correct that there is a small button in the back of the unit labeled RESET. You would need a pen or something to shove in the hole and hold it in for 10 - 15 seconds. Router should reset and come up on 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. If like all the other Linksys that I have worked on, should have no username and password admin after reset.
