Ugh, I'm tired of stuff like this. You're acting like everyone in USA agrees with this patent.

What the Government does though is a result of people voting for them hence one could argue an action as stupid as this is an action of the USA.

I feel that if this company tries to demand compensation or whatever they'll probably end up having the patent revoked... what a stupid system - no one is going to pay to use AJAX.

AJAX is more about a technique - and you CAN patent that. Yes, all the technologies belong to other companies, but the technique is unique enough that it can be patented.
