Windows Live Search Sample

What did you find so impressive about this?

I'm biased but... New, faster UI. No paging of results (infinite on-demand scrolling), adjustable result details, amazing image search. Search Macros (which isn't the final name, and is really early but is going to kick butt). Oh, and if you have full detail view on, you can click "Search within this site" on a result and get a handy search box right there.

This is just the beginning... but it gives you an idea of how the Live Search team wants to innovate beyond the simple, static "search box + links with excerpts" UI that we're used to today.

I have been using MSN search for a week now, and the results have been dead on accurate. I like live.com's image search though, it is very impressive. Try it, and click on an image and it keeps the history and such!

How do you add http://www.live.com/?q= as your search engine in firefox?

I like the slider very much, keeps everything very clean. However, google still gives better results and faster. Microsoft needs to focus on that more than new features, at this point in time.

Well one of the nice things is that we still have the same massive (and brilliant) team working on MSN Search (the engine. relevance, etc) - while at the same time, we have the Live Search team working on slick new UI and features like Search Macros.

So in way, we're focused on both :)

I don?t need anything fancy when searching, but instead something Fast, that?s the whole point on me loving Google.

I like this one for the technology behind it, but for my searches I?ll stick with Google, since it does just that without any obtrusive stuff.
