Intel Invents 5GHz Stock Cooler

^^ yeah i saw that, what does it mean exactly? the fan is too loud? or something else..

Yes that is what it means is the fan is very loud, water is not much advantage over air if you only have 1 12cm rad, its not a hell of a lot different than an xp120 would be if the fins were thinner and more of them.

the advantage to water is when you add more rads because then you add cooling power which is something you can not do with air

I have always been an Intel fan and alsways will, so kudos to them.

A lot of you aren't getting Intel's point. You can *easily* add a larger radiator. The point *Intel* was making is that, even as cheaply as they made it, it *still* cooled a P4 3.8 EE (Presler EE?) sufficiently to where it could run *easily* at a one-third overclocking. The whole WC unit isn't that much larger, radiator and all, than their *existing* stock HSF. (Exactly how much *air* is in their existing Presler retail boxes?) Intel could even have this *replace* air-cooling altogether for the EEs. (True Intel-branded/approved water-cooling included with the processor? AMD hasn't done anything like this!) I can even see this as a value-add for OEMs/system-builders.

With stuff like this, water cooling might actually become mainstream... in 10 or 20 years. :p

Nah..in 4 years dual core will be common place and Quad Core will be the new dual core. Imagine the heat from that..people will be saying Conroe what? AM2 what?

And I haven't checked up in water cooling in a while on the overclocking boards. But isn't the problem what to do with the water once it carries the heat? Haha I heard of people warming rooms with it..

    • Zen Browser 1.20.2b by Razvan Serea Zen Browser is a privacy-focused, open-source web browser built on Mozilla Firefox, offering users a secure and customizable browsing experience. It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. Automatic Updates: Keeps the browser updated with security patches. Zen Mods: Customizable themes and layouts. Workspaces: Organize tabs into different workspaces. Compact Mode: Maximizes screen space by minimizing UI elements. Zen Glance: Quick website previews. Split Views: View multiple tabs in the same window. Sidebar: Access bookmarks and tools quickly. • Looks the same as the Air, actually. Check it out in person.
    • "This transition will take several years so we shouldn't bother doing it at all" is a naive take. This is completely normal for all specifications that cross-cut software, hardware and multiple industries. Look at the PCI specification for another example, consumers barely have PCI-E 5 yet PCI-SIG is working on PCI-E 8. AV2 will take multiple years to get adoption and even then, even a decade from now people will still have older hardware that doesn't support it. That's fine, because the savings still add up as newer devices add the hardware to deal with it. The goal is never to get 100% on the new spec overnight, but to gradually adopt it.
