First of all.... I love Winamp CD Case. Thanks for your hard work!

However, I have a small problem with the new release. Nothing wrong with the program but I'm missing my favourite skin. I uninstalled my previous version of Winamp CD Case before installing this version.... I didn't realaise that the Aero Skin would be missing from RC 2.

I'd really like the Aero skin back but don't seem to be able to get on to the http://www.closersoftware.com site (site seems to be down) to see if I can download an earlier release which contains it.

Anyway... cheers! :)

Just a question....is the CD cover supposed to change when the song changes? Cause if it is, it's not happening for me :(

EDIT: OHHHHH I see.....it's PER Folder.

Nice application but unfortunatly, not practical for me because I have a lot of individual songs. Would work good on my MP3 Server tower but it runs iTunes.

Keep up the work.

EDIT 2: Ouuuuu ID3v2 tag support thingy. I guess that's how it works. Let's try it.

EDIT 3: Well for some reason it doesn't save it to the individual song. Am I doing something wrong?

+Eli,

WCC has some "read cover" methods to try to reach all kind of mp3 collections.

The settings you can find in "Options>Read cover>Read cover from". Press "Help" button or see "Readme.txt" for details!

A combination of those settings can better fit your collection.

Example:

Set "Cover's folder": WCC will cache all covers in a single folder using the following pattern: "Artist - Album.jpg".

So WCC will search for a local cover with this name and when WCC downloads a cover from the internet it'll save following the same pattern in "Cover's folder".

But the best settings depends on your organization...

Again, see "Readme.txt" or press "Help" button (while in "Options") to see details about each read cover method.

Remember: the order of your read cover settings is very important!

I'll give that a shot when I'm sober. Thanks for your help. I should be able to let you know by tomorrow afternoon-ish.

Actually I have been busy for the most part of today/hungover.

I set it to "Artist - Album" like you suggested and it works greatly. Unfortunaly I was hoping it would write to the ID3v2 tag so that I can transfer them to my other computer (my "music box") and the album art will transfer to iTunes.

But I got it to work and I'm currently using it. Thanks :D

interesting idea dude....that would be pretty cool, but i wouldnt use it myself.

I Like my files the way they are :)

WCC RC2 Build 13 (12 Mar 2006)

- Improved Fade In/Out effect (*)

(*) Uses less CPU (up to 10x less depending the CPU speed) and is a little bit smoother (make sure to check "Options>General>Fade cover")

Note: the new fade in/out was NOT enough tested yet; you may find some bugs...

Have fun! :)

1) install the full version: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Winam...se/1109367710/1

2) unzip and copy the last build into WCC folder, replacing the old "CD Case.exe": http://www.closetosoftware.com/temp/wccrc2b13.zip

The first post will be updated with the last build too.

I love this program; thanks Carlos for doing a great job!

Only issue is that some of the album covers do not show on the case even though there is definitely cover art in the ID tag. The cover art shows in Itunes but does not show in the CD case skin (or any of the other skins). Any solution to this?

Gavin001: I've started 2 get this error everytime i install, u know how to fix it??

1) Have you tried to ignore it? Maybe you already have it and a program maybe using it (but I think the setup would know that...)

2) You can also try this:

a) restart your PC

b) "Start>Run" and type: regsvr32 /u SSubTmr6.dll

c) try to install WCC again

3) email me if it still not woking: [email protected]

Cianca: You must try to break the dependency with the VB runtime...

I don't have time to learn C+. I know it'll be better but not that much. C'mon... :)

poc314: ...some of the album covers do not show on the case even though there is definitely cover art in the ID tag...

WCC has a limited third party module that reads the ID3v2 cover tags. I can't do nothing about it for now.

Feature Request:

The ability to choose a different font per notifier line. If this is something that you think you can implement before 1.0 final, I say go for it. If not, maybe keep it in mind for a future build. Thanks again for all your hard work, Carlos!

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
    • CPPC states can also be messed around with in most UEFI settings but aren't as robust as the ones that the Windows Scheduler can provide! Make sure you look into what your motherboard also has before customizing for the Windows Scheduler.
