Current working build is #247!

A lot of improvements are being done: main core rewritten; bicubic filter added to resize case and fancy rating; two separeted lines (each can have its own font, size, color etc.); the %newline% tag can still be used; more options added like pad top - progress/fancy rating; pad top - line two; and many more...

You'll have even more fun! :D

I was wondering if someone could help me with my problem. I embed the cover art using Album Art Cover Downloader. I have used MP3Tag to see if it was something wrong with the way it was embedding them but it turns out that is not the case. Out of 35 albums only 7 of them do not show up; and in a Winamp plugin I use to keep track of my collection, Album List, all of them show up just fine. Is there anything else I could do to try and fix those 7 albums or would Carlos have to take it into his hands?

LazyGamer,

WCC has a limited (not updated for a long time) third party module that reads the ID3v2 cover.

Anyway, make sure to have just one ID3v2 cover per mp3.

In addition, tag the files again can solve the problem.

In my tests I've used the shareware Dr.Tag which seems to create a compatible ID3v2 cover tag all the time.

Dr.Tag: http://www.drtag.de/en/

I used the Dr.Tag program and it just ended up screwing up the the text tags and didn't do anything the help the cover art. If you, or anyone else, has any more ideas on how to fix my problem please reply. Until then I guess I'll wait for the third party thing your using to be updated.

Hi Carlos!

When I listen to songs that are in albums that have short names (2 charactes, as in "Go", "Hi", etc) WCC only shows the first letter in the notifier, even though it loads the proper cover and even gets the album name right when I click Search cover.

Also... Do you think you could add an option to "draw" the CD cover on top of the skin instead of behind it? Drawing it behind the skin is cool for adding reflections or glow/glass effects, but I want to have a transparent blank cover (for searching and cover not found) and since those images can't be transparent, I've had to add my wallpaper to them and save them faking the transparency and when I change my wallpaper I have to do them again. =/

Or, just add transparency for those images too. That'd be awesome :)

Final notes

Thank you all that helped me test this new version before this forum release!

And... Have fun! :D

Very nice, Carlos! I ran across this though:

post-77289-1143371043_thumb.jpg

Wianmp?

What you're seeing there is %artist% - %track% but I've got my notifier set like this:

Line one text: %artist%

Line two text: %album%%newline%%title%

It's done that twice in maybe 50 tracks or so. If I exit WCC and start it again it's fine again.

I get same problem,

I've also got a question....

I listen to alot of the radio on wimamp, eg hitz radio....

And it gives the information on title / artist follwed by they're slogan or w/e

EG: Artist - Title (Hitzradio.com-#1 for all the hits!)

Is there anyway i can make it download a cover of the artist....if i go search cover it pulls up a no result...wondered if could kinda extract what it needs then search?

thanks

:-O OMG carlos i want to marry to dud:p:p you are the man this app just keeps on getting better and better i use it all the tim:D:D

Thank you sooo much this program rocks and so do you keep up the amazing work ma:D:D

Thanks but I'm already married!:D:D

Amazing work Carlos. The bug is fixed now, and I'm loving the magnetic borders. Just what I was going for!

Thank you!

The "Exit when player is ended" option never seems to untick though. I can't close winamp or WCC goes away with i:(:(

Hum... Magnetic borders is there since beta 10 I think...

I'll take a look at the Exit bug asp.

Regarding the skin question u made before: it's just a matter of design. I'll see what I can do when I have time. By the way, would u like the case to be shown? Or all u want it's the cover?

The "Wianmp&quot:rofl:l: should appear only for steam music (is that the right trerm?). It should appear e.g. when you hear a shoucast radio station.

Are you getting it when you listen to a local song?

I get same problem,

I've never tested WCC with web radio. It has a really limited feature just to NOT crash when a web radio is being played.

When I have some free time I'll try to improve it.

Really? That long? I know I asked for it not too long ago =/ Anyway, it's there now, and it looks SWEET next to Rainlendar.

About the skin question, let me clarify. I have a semi transparent square, the "cd case". I want the cover to be "drawn" on top of the skin, so the semi-transparentness of the skin doesn't make the cover look bad.

I tried "cutting a hole" in the square to put the cover there. I then used the piece I cut out of the skin for the "Searching" and "Not Found" images, so the hole I cut out would be filled when no cover was available. But I noticed that WCC doesn't support transparency for those images, and they look black. That doesn't look good in my semi-transparent square.

Here are some screenshots to clarify even further.

This is what I want to achieve:

withcoverontop9mr.png

This is how it looks like in reality:

withcoverbehind0ro.png

(the cover is drawn behind the case, useful for "glass" effects, bothersome in other situations)

This is what I want it to look while searching/not found:

nocovertransparent4us.png

This is what it looks like if I use the cutout method:

nocovercutout2mf.png

Now, what I did as a workaround is take the screenshot of how I want it to look like (the 3rd screenshot in this post) and cut out the region that would fill the hole in the last screenshot, and used that image for searching/not found. This work well, except for when I change my wallpaper or move WCC a bit.

Oh, and as a side note, I have the "Play when start" option enabled, and everytime I apply changes to WCC settings, winamp starts playing a song.

noroom,

Please send me your skin set (including the case with the hole and the piece you cut).

In addition, I think it's possible to change the order: first case then cover. I'll see what I can do...

My email: [email protected]

:::Edited: I've tested the method you did: cut a hole and live the piece as the nocover. It worked here. The procedure to load the case and the cover is the same. It's probably a transparency issue with your "nocover.png". Please, check your files.

Edited by Carlos11

Right, that's what it seems like because it also doesn't show the cover. It can't open the folder, either. I also just noticed I can't drag and drop an image onto WCC anymore.

    • I totally disagree. Very little good comes out of governments all around the world manipulating everything they can and usually the people are not the benefactors. What you say about being restricted and expensive sounds almost like the arguments against firearms and why banning them will protect people as if making something illegal somehow will prevent the criminals from having and using them. AI being far less mainstream could simply mean the average person will not benefit, but "big brother" and the corporations will benefit, which is almost for sure NOT a good thing.
