I've tested the method you did: cut a hole and live the piece as the nocover. It worked here. The procedure to load the case and the cover is the same. It's probably a transparency issue with your "nocover.png". Please, check your files.
Oh wow. For some reason, I was creating PNGs with "peculiar" settings. Changed everything back to normal and now it works. Awesome, I apologize if I caused any trouble.
that transparent skin is pretty cool......
Thanks, but I don't plan on releasing it as it's just my port of the Lucid 1.2 Rainlendar skin by thechunkster.
Oh, and as a side note, I have the "Play when start" option enabled, and everytime I apply changes to WCC settings, winamp starts playing a song.
Any news on this issue? I love keeping WCC on my desktop even when I'm not running winamp.

Oh, and is there a reason as to why I never see the "searching" image unless I'm conducting a manual search?

Edit: Yeah, confirmed. It just freezes on the last cover (the hourglass cursor appears when I mouseover it) until it finds the cover...

noroom,

1) The issue is already fixed. I'll post another build tomorrow (27 Mar 2006)

2) "searching" and "nocover" images: as I said it's just a matter of design. Just create a transparent png (no draw at all) for "searching" and "nocover". You'll only see the case of course. ;)

In addition, the freeze while searching is still necessary.

Thank you for your feedback!

Glad to hear about the coming build.

And about the "searching" image, I think you misunderstood me. What I said was that I never see it! And I want to! I created a searching image, but it never comes up. The only way I can make it appear is selecting to do a manual search. Then the image is shown for as long as I keep the search window open. But under normal use, when WCC needs a cover that hasn't been downloaded yet, it doesn't show the "searching" image. It just shows the image from the last played album until the new image is downloaded. And this happens with all the skins.

WCC RC2 Build 411 (27 Mar 2006)

- Added cover/case order in "Skin Manager>Case and Cover" (*)

- Fixed drop cover bug

- Fixed "Exit when player is ended" bug

- Fixed Web radio bug

- Fixed automatically download and "searching" image bug

(*) you can select whether case or cover should be placed at front (default is Case at front)

RC3 is almost there! Thank you all for your feedback!

Ahh, this is my favorite desktop gadget ever. :D Great work!

I noticed in my CD Covers folder that some are being saved as "Artist - Album.jpg", the way it should be, but some are saved as "Artist - Album .jpg", with a space after the album title. Maybe you should trim both artist and titles before using that as a name. Also, sometimes some covers get saved as "Artist - .jpg", with a blank album title.

Do you think you can look into that?

Hi Carlos!

That's weird, I only have "Artist - .jpg" for some covers, and with EVERY cover that doesn't have an album title, there's also a cover named "Artist - Album.jpg". Maybe it's because I have several songs from one album, but still... I don't know, I guess it's not that important. But some album covers are still saved as "Artist - Album .jpg", with a space after the album title. Just do a Trim() of the artist and album before looking for the file/saving it and the problem should be solved. (1)

Carlos, do you think you can add an option to conduct an external search? Sometimes the built-in cover finder doesn't find the cover for an album because it's not on amazon. In those cases, I think it would be great if we could right click and select "Manual Search" or "External Search" and WCC would then launch an IE window that points to the google image search of "album" "title" (with quotes around the artist and the album title, for more precise results). That way we can click an image, and then drag it directly to WCC and we're done. (2)

I was playing with WCC and I realized the context menu is a bit big. I recommend sorting it in categories, like:

----------------------------------

Playback > Previous | Play/Pause | Next

Rate Song > (stars)

Open folder

----------------------------------

Cover > Search | View | Open folder | Delete

WCC > Options | Skin Manager | Lock Position | About

----------------------------------

Send to Tray

Exit

----------------------------------

The Open folder under Cover, would open the covers folder and go to the current cover, just like the Open folder for the song does. (3)

Also, the Minimize option doesn't do anything when WCC is pinned to desktop. Hide it? Disable it? Make it do something? (4) :)

Those are my 4 suggestions for this post. Hope I'm not giving you too much work! :p

noroom,

1) When I have time I'll see the "Trim" thing, since I'll have to place it in more than one line of code, then test... I have to fix the current bugs first.

2) It's possible. Something like Google?

3) It's big indeed. But I like it. It's faster that way at least for me. :)

4) Minimize x Pin to desktop: I forgot that! I'll fix it asp.

Thank you for your feedback!

1) Sure, but... I consider that to be a bug too

2) Yupp, that's what I said in my previous post. Google. I think it's important that WCC launches IE though, because drag&drop won't work with Firefox.

3) Aw, that's too bad. I was really hoping you'd be into making the popup menu nicer and smaller. What about the "Open folder" for the cover option? (read my previous post again)

4) Fixed now. Works great, thanks.

I'd really like to aid with the development. Would it be possible for me to join you in the programming?

The time (for now) can only be added at the end of main "Line one".

Use line one to show title plus time (e.g.: %title%) and line two for the rest (e.g.: %artist%%newline%%album%).

Maybe, just maybe in the future time will became a tag (%time%).

The current way is the fastest way to show time. "Fastest" means less CPU usage.

Also, how can I change the font size for each line?

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
