Dell NOT to buy Alienware

Dell has moved to quash rumors that suggested the company had acquired rival PC vendor Alienware.

Speculation about a possible buyout has been rife since Rahul Sood, CEO of Voodoo PC, an American OEM computer supplier, posted his thoughts on such a move on his blog.

Yeah, right. The good coupons rarely (if ever) include the XPS line. So they wouldn't have given you that kind of discount on an Alienware PC anyway.

No, I think that Dell would stay Dell, but it would definatley change their product-line to offering systems with AMD CPUs in them.

Bummer :D It would have been cool. I am sure they would have been 2 seperate entities. The names would still be the same. I think there web development team is the same though. look at how both look the same. Pretty much same format some diff words but same flash slideshow thing and same sizes practicly. Shhhhhh.... It could just be a marketing play to get us all up in arms. It may still happen....... MUhuhahahaha

i think if they had bought them, they'd drop their xps line so that there would be less competition with themselves.

though eventually, i wonder if the dell name would diminish the value of alienware.. or would alienware improve dells name.
