Because it breaks the law (at least in some countries) - email has been given here the same protection as normal mail, if you read another persons email without their consent you're committing a felony, especially if you're using a tool such as a packet sniffer. (Disruption or eavesdropping telecommunication = felony).

So she could sue him and win :rofl:

I say that if you are suspicious that your partner is cheating on you, then your relationship is probably already down the toilet.

It seems like everybody is already cheating on everybody. Is cheating really so common? It is all so discouraging.

If they were on a network he can just say he administrated the network. It's not illegal to sniff packets on a network that you own, or is it? Technically her mail was his mail aswell, as long as she downloads it. I don't think he went too far, but I don't think packet sniffing is the way to go in finding out if your wife or husband cheats on you. What's worst; Cheating or reading someone's mail over your network?
