Nero 7.2.0.3 Released

Recommended Posts

I installed 7.2.0.3 to test out audio cd burning, which is the only thing I use it for other than burning cd/dvd images. Took over 30 minutes to burn a 60 minute audio CD at 48x and when it finished all I can say is "Skips Ahoy!"... :angry:

Back to version 6 for me. :)

hmmm nero 7 is a bloated program, i still use nero 6, does the job! why do all these good little progs end up turning into bloated bits of crap, look what happened to winamp!

They run out of ideas and new features and new technology in burners arrives.

It's not putting all your eggs in the same basket scenario!

The mp3 decoder was fixed right away by users who simply zipped up the older mp3pro.dll and used the older version.

1. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\AudioPlugins

2. Replace with 2.0.4.7 { 2.0.5.0 was the one the cause the skipping }

3. Done.

No. This is rediculous. We shouldn't have to replace any files. It should come mandatory. I am not trying to be rude...but this is one of the greatest burning applications out there and I don't want to see it go down hill. :no:

What the heck?! The skipping audio problem was actually a software problem? Jeez I thought I was burning the CDs too fast or something...

Nero 7 is a piece of crap, I literally unchecked everything in the install menu except the basic product. And honestly, who the hell thought Nero Scout would be a good idea?

Guess I'll be going back to version 6 now that I know it's Nero 7 causing the audio cd problem and not me.

Yeah also adding a toolbar to quick launch is moronic also.

I hear that! (no pun intended)

I found that the skipping problem not only existed when burning, but also when playing it on Nero Media Player. Took me a while to figure out that version 6.6.0.18 and NMP v. 1.4.0.32 were the only combination that didn't do that. That's what we've been using for a while, I tried using 7....but it's just plain garbage IMHO.

I just updated my Nero from 7.0.5.4, and noticed that Nero Scout just got worse! They put some stupid crap in my system tray now! And I can't figure out how to get rid of it! I tried the usual regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\lib\MediaLibraryNSE.dll" but it didn't get rid of the junk in the system tray. I looked at my running processes under procexp, and got some entries called NeroSearchTrayHook.dll and NeroSearchBar.dll, but I don't know how to get them out of my system startup. I ran autoruns, and didn't see anything in there to get rid of.

I might have to dump Nero for good. I hoped Nero 7 would have been better by now, but it's just getting worse! Can anyone recommend a good burning program that is free and burns DVD's too? I don't really need to author DVD's, but I noticed that some of the free programs don't support burning to DVD+/-R.

I want something that will let me drag an m3u list and insert CD Text info for Audio CD's, create bootable discs, and create CD's and DVD's (not necessarily movie DVD's).

Edit: I feel stupid now. I got rid of the LAME NeroScout thing next to my systray by right clicking on the taskbar, and then turning off the Nero Search toolbar. I should have realized it was a toolbar LOL

I'm still open to suggestions on a new burning software though.

I like ImgBurn 1.3. It's free and allows you to burn DVDs.

I was just going to say something about Nero scout and the search bar too but Arckon beat me to it. I switched to v7 because I thought NeroVision and some of the encoders would be better/faster but everything really is beyond bloated. Who in the hell is going to us Nero home and scout and all of the other garbage?

@Quillz

I looked at ImgBurn, and it only burns images (hence the name). I want something that I can create UDF/ISO file systems, and music CD's by dragging files into the program and burn it. I read that most freeware programs that do that use mkisofs and there is a problem with creating files over 2 GB. So I guess I may be stuck w/ Nero for a while :(

    • Here is the new Surface Laptop Ultra wallpaper in high resolution by Taras Buria Earlier this week, Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop Ultra, its brand-new high-end laptop powered by NVIDIA's brand-new RTX Spark processor. As usual, Microsoft gives each new device a unique wallpaper, and the Surface Laptop Ultra is no exception. While the device is not publicly available yet, somebody has already extracted its wallpaper, giving everyone a chance to get a piece of the upcoming laptop in its full-resolution glory. The Surface Laptop Ultra has a very dark, abstract wallpaper that resembles the stock wallpapers in Windows Server, albeit with much less color. Having this dark, grim wallpaper highlights the laptop's mini-LED display and its ability to cut off parts of the screen's backlight to achieve OLED-like black levels. However, if you also like light wallpapers, we made a white version by simply inverting its colors. You can download both wallpapers below (click the image, right-click it, and select "Save as"): The Surface Laptop Ultra is expected to launch later this year. Microsoft is not revealing full details yet, including the price. However, Microsoft confirmed up to 1 petaflop of AI performance and RTX 5070-level of GPU performance. The heart of the laptop has up to 20 CPU cores and 6,144 GPU cores. Additionally, Microsoft and NVIDIA boast high CPU efficiency for all-day battery life. As for the display, it is a 15-inch mini-LED display with a pixel density of 262 ppi and a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. Of course, not everyone needs this amount of power, and certainly not everyone can afford it. For those who need a more affordable device, Microsoft is also preparing the next-generation Surface Pro powered by the Snapdragon X2 Elite processor. Weeks ahead of the announcement, details about this computer were leaked by a retailer. Do you like the Surface Laptop Ultra's stock wallpaper? Share your thoughts in the comments.
