I have a BENQ DVD DD DW1650 drive that's acting a little wierd. Everytime a CD of DVD is placed in the drive, the computer reboots.

Anyone have an idea why?

EDIT: It seems to BSOD apon a disk being entered and I get a generic "stop" message. The same message also occurs when I try to do a virus scan with Symantic.

I did an online virus scan with BitDefender and I did a spyware scan with no results.

Remove the cables from the DVD drive and try running a virus scan. The scanner may be scanning the ide bus and the Drive may be causing the BSODs.

If you still get a BSOD with the drive removed from the system physically we know its some other problem.
