Thx for the heads up, strange about the coding in your post tho, on this pc (my desktop) the links when you hover over them are all linked together but on my laptop they are not (same version ff + ext + theme) although on my desktop I can click the link for win version and it downloads but on my laptop it brings me to mozilla.org.

Edit: works now this version , has nice spell check and is pretty stable

I tried it for a bit and it seems very nice. I'd keep it on my pc but it apparently interferes with the current firefox even though it installs in a different directory.

EDIT: Using MR Tech Local Install extension I managed to make bon echo work with almost all my extensions and themes. I'll now be using Bon Echo. :D

Spell checking in text boxes will be a blessing for the internet as a whole :woot:

And also grammatical errors, as well.

So far Bon Echo Alpha 2 is working quite well for me. I love the spell checking feature, seems to work as advertised. Seems extremely fast (I read somewhere there has been major improvements in Javascript speed) on OS X.

Also like the fact that links that open new windows are instead sent to tabs. Works really slick and that's another extension I can get rid of.

Another really cool feature is the ability to subscribe to RSS feeds by having Firefox send it to your RSS reader application, an web site like Bloglines or Google Reader, or a Live Bookmark. The LiveLines extension does the web site part, but nothing else.

Safe Browsing (phishing protection) will be in Alpha 3.

I have the start of a photo gallery going. It's a file tree now, but once I have a couple of screenies done, I'll give it a nice page.

And this thing is amazing! No more pasting front page news into MS Word! Cool!

I'm looking forward to those in the final release.

You think there will ever be an easy way to reopen a closed tab?

The tab mix plus extension has that option. It adds a recycle bin button like the one in Opera where you can see all your closed tabs. I'd be using it for Bon Echo except it disrupts the behavior of tabs with Bon Echo's. It's the easiest way I know of...it would really make a great feature in the next Firefox that's for sure.

For those of you wondering what Microsummaries are, check out this thread on MozillaZine:

It looks like a really COOL feature.

    • Personally, I think these things are way over rated and way over priced, even at this price. I recently had Frontier Fiber installed with 2 of these devices and although they worked, I switched back to my own router and AP setup and get way better consistency on wireless speed than with Eeros. Wired speed seems to be more consistent also. Will be returning Eeros soon. I had told Frontier I didn't want them to begin with.
    • Yes, exactly what I have been thinking. Don't make the context menu simpler, make it smarter to learn what I actually use. And then, give me the ability to pin settings that I rarely use but need forget where they are.

Later today, Geoff Keighley will be bringing the 2026 edition of Summer Game Fest live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. For anyone wanting to tune in online, the Summer Game Fest showcase livestream will be kicking off at 2 PM PT | 5 PM ET | 10 PM BST later today, June 5. The jam-packed show is slated to run for about two hours, with platforms like YouTube (4K at 60FPS), Twitch, Facebook, or X being available for catching it. Like in previous years, separate streams featuring American Sign Language and Descriptive Audio are available on YouTube as well. Keighley has only dropped a few teasers about what gaming fans can expect to see at the show. This includes a new look at Star Wars Zero Company from EA, a major announcement from Guild Wars developer ArenaNet, more Clutch gameplay, and some sort of Sega presence. As for fan expectations, there is hype building about a Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 reveal here, and we might see new details about announced games like Alien Isolation 2 as well. If you want even more games, keep in mind that right after the main kickoff event, the Day of the Devs showcase will begin its own festivities at 4 pm PT | 7 pm ET. This is focused entirely on upcoming indie games. Following this, the next major games showcase is slated to happen on June 7. Here, Microsoft is bringing the big guns with its Xbox Games Showcase and Gears of War E-Day Direct. Check out the full calendar for all of the June events over here.
