Mexico being 4th in the world is even worse than the US being 5th, for the simple fact the US kicked them out of the '02 tourney..............

...It doesn't suprise me the 2nd best team in the world beat the US

Talking about the past .. oh, and rankings are usefull when you defend the US

What?

The US and Mexico have met over 40 times and we all know Mexico didn't win all 40

Take a look at your stats.

Talking about the past .................. again .........

Like history matters in the World Cup

Of course...for now. If Portugal beats Mexico, lets say, 2-0, then Angola only needs 2 goals.

Good ol' FIFA rankings

And then you say history doesn't matter........... of course .... it only matters when they are convinient for you.

First of all, I said history doesn't matter when it comes to playing games in the world cup. Second of all, I don't defend anyone, I was merely stating the fact that the rankings are nonsense and it was proven today. Third, when I mentioned that the US eliminated Mexico, it was to prove a point that Mexico has not "owned" the US like it was mentioned. Last, but not least, history does not matter, period. I have, in none of my posts, ever used history to predict any games, now have I?

You have too much time on your hands

Whoa 6-0, some scoreline that is. Argentina really played fabulously. All the goals were good. Awesome finishing. I wonder what happened to Serbia and Montenegro. They played very well in the qualifiers, they were undefeated, and their defense was very much talked about. Of course they must have missed Vidic, but certainly a 6-0 defeat is not one would have expected from Serbia and Montenegro. Hats off to Argentina. 6 goals from 5 players...they sure are firing on all cylinders :p The first game in the World Cup with a big score. Spain though won by 4-0 but a 6-0 is a bigger win :p

You are quite correct, Rodrigo. Now go pray that Angola loses the last game.

A little rude here, eh? Sorry, I'm a non-believer. ;)

Who said anything about history only in the world cup? To me, it seems you are only trying to bash Mexico. Besides, it was not proven today, but in the US game, that the rankins are nonsense, why are you not talking about this and only about Mexico?

By the way, who mentioned that Mexico has "owned" () the US? I suppose you are refering to me, but sadly, I never touched that spot.

I don't think you'll believe me, but I've been trying to predict the winning outcome of each World Cup game, and out of all the games, I've only goofed up on 3 games! Man, am I better at picking Soccer than I am at picking any other sport?

The only games I've gotten wrong were:

Poland vs. Ecuador on Day 1 (I picked Poland)

USA vs Czech Republic on Day 4 (USA)

Japan vs Australlia (Japan)

If you happen to wonder, here are my predictions for today:

Portugal vs. Iran - Portugal

Czech Republic vs. Ghana - Czech Republic

Italy vs. USA - Italy

I've been even using Excel 2007 to plot it all out!

Well someone just won something in World Cup... people are driving by my house honking like crazy. I'm going to bet it's either Portugal or Greece that did something good because they're the only nut-heads to do this (which will last all day as well).

Edit - I don't like/play soccer/football at all. I could go out to see what flag it was, but instead I'll just put headphones on.

Where do you live? Outside my house, there are, in all honesty, about 60+ cars honking and waving Portuguese flags.

You have to love living in a Portuguese community and being Portuguese :D

Go Portugal!

Yes, all around the world (literally), the portuguese community is celebrating our victory.

God, I love Portugal and I'm so proud of being portuguese!!

And what a good game against Iran! Hopefully we'll get to play with Holland in the 8ths.

Oh... and it couldn't be Greece, [NFC]Wave, because they aren't in the World Cup...

I agree Ghana are playing really well, and the Czech's are playing very poorly - especially in defense.

Ghana have had about ten clear goalscoring oppertunities, they get the ball in the box and no Czech player is closing them down. It's just like "have a shot".

    • Dude get a clue, LTSC is Enterprise, not even legal for consumers, and ESU is not mainstream support cycle, just an extended security updates period.
    • Nvidia is your issue more so than linux itself. I did used it for a while with an old 1060 3gb, but using propietary drivers was kind of messy.
