B'ah. It appears that I made a typo in the link.

http://www.unitedempire.net/stuff/vtp4.zip IS the correct link. I mixed up the T and P.

So, again. http://www.unitedempire.net/stuff/vtp4.zip is the correct link.

[note to self, next time, test all links you posted]

It messed up my computer, i'm running all my programs via task manager since i installed the VTP 4.0. When rebooted for first time, THE UI WONT LOAD ANYMORE(start menu, taskbar, icons, gadgets), i uninstalled and nothing happened, repaired and the problem still there, any idea on how to repait that?

When I installed this, you'd have to change it from display. After the reboot, it should show the display settings, to appearance tabs, and you can change it from there.

I think it's" "Aero Glass" and "Aero Vista" and there's two versions of each.

Did you try that?

What program? the installer for VTP 4? So try downloading a new copy.

Oh, while we're on that subject....

When you load in regular moad. Go to task manager, does Explorer.exe show up in process? if so, shut it down, and manually run explorer.exe

on your screenshots u dont have transparency on white areas. for example in an explorer window. can u tell me what to do to get it like on the screenies?

i have the same problem i can see through my windows, yes it looks really nice, but unfortunatley it means i can't view pics, of even another window properly.

Here are the steps you need to take to adjust the transparency of the windows:

1. Right-click on the Glass2K icon in your system tray and select ?Settings?. Now check to see what your keyboard shortcut is (I changed mine to be Ctrl + Shift).

2. Open the window that you want to adjust the transparency of, like Windows Explorer or Notepad for example.

3. Use the shortcut above in conjunction with a 0-9 number key. 0 means you want no transparency where 9 means you want the most transparency. If I wanted a window with no transparency I would press Ctrl+Shift+0.

4. That?s all! I don?t believe there is a way you can do this for every application at one time so you will have to perform this for each application individually.

I've been using this since it was LTP, and it's a good program. But before you install, you must realize that danger inherent here: you're modifying your system files, and the chance of something going wrong is quite high. You must be prepared to do some manual work (typically uninstalling and reinstalling works, but at the very worst you could have to do an upgrade install). However, once it works, it works quite well.

Be sure to remove your Windows CD before you install it, otherwise a tug-of-war will start, causing problems.

It does make backup in system32\ViTP (or something like that). Simply run the installer and click the Uninstall option.

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
