I have found the answer to the missing account picture on the start menu, well the fact it's moved.

if you go into video properties, and find the DPI settings you'll find that it MAY be set to something other than 96, I changed it over to 96, originally 120 and the menu is now fixed and fully functioning.

Okay, since no one seem to have a problem with it.

I uploaded the zip file up to my server, it will be there for a few days.

I ask that you keep the link only in this forums and no others.

If there is indeed aproblem, please PM me.

after i did this. my desk-icons were much nearer to the display boarder and the icon name is in 2 lines instead of one. how can i undo this?

I really like the Vista Beta 2 theme. XD

And the LClock - now I can see what day of the week it is!

My only problem with it is that the buttons in Firefox, like on Bookmarks Toolbar and my site's toolbar have grown freakishly large - at least 50px in height.

Is there any way we can edit this?

Here are the steps you need to take to adjust the transparency of the windows:

1. Right-click on the Glass2K icon in your system tray and select ?Settings?. Now check to see what your keyboard shortcut is (I changed mine to be Ctrl + Shift).

2. Open the window that you want to adjust the transparency of, like Windows Explorer or Notepad for example.

3. Use the shortcut above in conjunction with a 0-9 number key. 0 means you want no transparency where 9 means you want the most transparency. If I wanted a window with no transparency I would press Ctrl+Shift+0.

4. That?s all! I don?t believe there is a way you can do this for every application at one time so you will have to perform this for each application individually.

On topic: Doesn't matter wich language is installed on my PC? Because I had problems with the last pack and I had to repair my windows installation.

  • 2 weeks later...

Ok, guys... Let me put in my five cents.

I downloaded this from BitTorrent. Then I went to Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs and uninstalled VTP 3.0. Then I ran the VTP 4.0 installer (without installing Glass2k, Sidebar, or Longhorn Clock), chose "First time installation", and rebooted my computer (can't remember if it was one or two times). Because I had WindowBlinds 5 installed before running the VTP installer, it added the "Aero Style" skin to the Skins. Anyway, when my computer was booting up, I noticed that my boot screen was still the old 'Windows XP' boot screen (in VTP 3.0 it was there but uninstalling BitDefender reverted it to the old). But I saw the beautiful new Vista welcome screen and I clicked on my account. I heard the new Vista logon sound. I was shown the 'Display Properties' dialog in the 'Appearance' tab. I canceled it, and Windows logged me on. Once everything settled down, programs finished loading and such, I double-clicked on the WindowBlinds 5 icon in my system tray, selected "Aero Style", and clicked "Apply this skin now". Then I logged off and logged back in for WindowBlinds to be loaded into memory. I opened up the start menu and noticed that it was a bit different from the one in the picture in the website where I downloaded the VTP 4.0 torrent from (which is the same one as the one in the first post in this thread). There were no icons next to the list of links under the display picture and the "Log Off" and "Shut Down" buttons were a bit different and were in the white area of the start menu (and had no text but that's what I selected in the options in the VTP installer). I had no problems with my display picture, my icons were transformed, I had no problems with explorer.exe, and my Firefox buttons were fine.

Overall, I liked the new Vista sounds and the fixed welcome screen. Also all the icons actually took affect this time. :) I still don't know why my boot screen didn't change, but I don't want to risk messing with VTP just for a little boot screen!

By the way, I used this alongside of Visual Task Tips and ?berIcon. Visual Task Tips shows a thumbnail preview image of the task in the Windows taskbar when you hover over a button, like in the upcoming Windows Vista. ?berIcon adds animation to icons when you double-click them.

I know that Windows Vista (Beta 2) is out now, but I still like this because XP is stable and I only have one computer. Great job, Windows X, you make my Windows into Vista but without the bugs of Beta 2!);) *Thumbs up*

For people who read through the thread's pages and read this post, congratulations to you; you deserved this little treat. Five cents to you!:cool:l:

Can someone upload his explorer.exe becouse after instalation VTP it freeze on logging because explorer.exe wasnt in windows folder... i had luck that i backup old explorer.exe and then copy it where it should be. • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
    • CPPC states can also be messed around with in most UEFI settings but aren't as robust as the ones that the Windows Scheduler can provide! Make sure you look into what your motherboard also has before customizing for the Windows Scheduler.
