I cant believe the prices of phones in the US, I guess that phones are the only things that are cheaper in the UK.

You could get a W810i on contract for ?20 a month, with the phone being free and you get 100 minutes and 100 texts a month. That is on a 12 month contract.

So that works out at about ?240 for a top of the range phone and a load of minutes and texts!

He didnt buy that phone on a contract, also its not sold in the US. Generally you can sign a contract for 2 years and get a phone really cheap if not free.

also, your getting screwed if your paying 20 a month thats what like $37 US dollars for 100 minutes and 100 texts a month? I hope you get afternoon/nights/weekends free or somthing as id go threw 100 minutes in about two days.

I pay $40.00 a month get 450 day minutes m-f 8am- 9 pm anything after 9pm is free m-f, weekends free

This talk reminds me of: http://foamy.st0rmgaming.com/cell.swf

Needless to say, not all rate plans are innocent in the U.S. either. Seems as if T-Mobile is the only one keeping sensible in monthly individual rates, considering data rates, etc. Anyhow, back on topic...

I really want to invest in the w900i, however I have the w800i and really shouldn't. The white shell is the only thing that making me want it. Silly reason, but whatever.

Thanks for the review. The nice glossy photos make me yearn for it even more.

Since you're in the USA, I honestly can't really recommend the W900i. While it still works, I have found now that after having the phone for almost a month, the lack of the 850 MHz band does hurt it. My W810i gets full reception everywhere, even in my house, because it's picking up the 850 MHz band.

If you're looking for an upgrade to your W800i, why not the W810i? It's quad-band and adds EDGE, and it also comes in white now. (It was announced yesterday.)

Well, if I'm getting a new phone, 3G is a baseline requirement. I can still get a W900i, while initially the swivel looks cool, it became old quickly without having owned the phone. It's kind of unpractical. Also, the W850i looks cooler. I got myself some cheapass MP3 player meanwhile to bridge the time until release.

What do you hate about it? Just the design? If that's all, I can understand why. This is a form factor that really takes some getting used to. It's not as convenient as your traditional clamshell or candy bar phone, but I think that the swivel form factor makes the phone a bit exclusive-ish.

After 300 years i ansewer :p

Yeah its the design, i havent used it so i dont know its features, must be very similar to K750 which i used, and hell i loved the system :p

Still, i like W950 a lot more

My uncle just got one and after just playing with it for a few minutes, I have to say this phone is awesome. I love the design and the screen was fantastic; crystal clear! To bad I couldn't afford one when I was looking around so got the W800 instead; still great.

Off topic: Although the W950 kicks butt with its touch screen and internal 4GB memory, I decided against it because I got a 4GB iPod for $50 recently. It just doesnt seem practical to have 2 mp3 players. Plus it doesnt have a camera.

Now Im leaning towards the white W850 with its sliding feature.

I agree. The swivel design was something I've never really seen before, and it wasn't the same generic block or flip phone that everyone else has. The QVGA screen is very nice, too. The only reason I've stopped using this phone in favor of the W810i is because I can actually use the 850 MHz band and EDGE of the latter.

Well, the W950i is a M600i with a different keypad, more built-in memory and the Walkman 2.0 player software. So depending on how long you want to wait and how much you want to spend, you might want to go for a M600i instead. The W950i is slated for October.

the w850i has a sensor which adjusts the screeen brightness according to the environment light .how do u turn off the sensor
I don't believe the light sensor, included on the W810, W850 and W900 can be turned off.
