No offence taken. I agree that the blue's are darker, but cut those images out and place them on the krystallized wallpaper which is being used by most people using this theme and you'll see how perfect they match.

[EDIT] [/EDIT]

im using that now, i think it goes great with the theme because of how it is put together but that just looks like it belongs to another theme. what i did was actually taking the top bar from the login to resized it and made a mirror image for the bottom in the same size as the orig. one. i also took the body colors (will ask permmissions before [if] I release). tihnk it goes better becuse it is used with the login and goes better with the theme. this is my first time actually skinning stuff for xp.

also do u knwo how to change the bitmaps for the logout? when i changed 20142 it was only shutdown and i only saw logout buttons. i also presume 20140,20140 was for 256 color, is this right?

edit:

here is a current pic, i need to get a better kde logo and do buttons also do u know why i see the two little white lines there? (bad quality because i used paint to save instead of photoshop so ididnt used index colors so i had to lose quality for it to still be small)

yeah Neo Cyborg that's located in the shell32.dll at the bottom of the bitmaps.

@Crayon and proph yeah the first time i tested the logon screen i was like what the heck it should be all squared up. then relized i accidently created an optical illusion. hehe i figured it looked cool so i left it that way.

@humcheepeng i did make a logon screen, i know it doesn't match 100% with the style, but hey it's the first one i've ever made.

Will be released soon, pending permission.

Thanks to Marvilla for the background images.

while these look awesome, and 100x better than my ****ty looking one i made :), would there be any chance that a version that looks less "glossy" like could be made? one reason i really like the Crystal look, is it's not all glassy and candy ala: OS X, and those 2 things are sorta glassy looking. maybe make a version that's a little softer sorta like the blue on the taskbar & titlebars of the crystal msstyle/wb?

thanks either way ;)

edited to say: i just noticed the bottom of those is kinda what i'm talking about, less glossy, matches the taskbar/titlebar a bit more :)

Honz,

Did you create the Crystal Style? Or was that taken from Evraldo's Crystal icons set.

With the windows blind skin, you made, are these gel buttons on the taskbar for open apps present or are they new to Tim's mmstyle for xp of crystal.

How close is tim's skin to being a true port of your windows blind skin, and the windows blind skin is it a port of a crystal theme for *nix or just based fully on the crystal icons and dreamed up on your own?

Either way, Good work on the theme, the crystal style looks really good. I also spent sometime looking at your web site.

You are a master skinner. Keep up the good work.

Hmm, not sure what you mean here? The Crystal Style?

The gel buttons in the msstyle taskbar were taken from the WB skin.

Tim's port is fantastic! Very close to the original. There are some things in the WB skin which did not appear in the mssytle, maybe it was because msstyles couldn't do it?? I don't know enough about that, but as an example: The menubar in notepad (file, edit, etc) doesn't appear as it does in the WB neither do the drop down menu's from here. Some other minor things, but mostly it's a top notch conversion and I'm more than happy with it. It's just differences between WB and msstyles. (WB can't skin slider controls for example(See pic)

BTW, I'd like to think it was mostly 100% dreamed up by me, but check this link out http://kdelook.org/content/preview.php?file=1586-1.png

I didn't rip my skin from here......I was inspired by it =]

Thank you!!

Please note that I'm not trying to say one is better than the other. I use both equally, and am very happy with both. But overall I prefer WindowBlinds. Anyway click the pics for comparisons if you're interested.

um I haven't even asked everaldo about it yet. :ermm: :ponder:

I've still to do some work to do on it. The three icons to the right of the chat icon are homes for popup menus and the popups are still styled for an underling theme I had made.

I'll work on it some more, ask everaldo if there would be any chance of a custom icon editor icon to replace the hein's one.

"Did you create the Crystal Style? Or was that taken from Evraldo's Crystal icons set.

Thank you for explaining it all to me. I wasn't sure about the whole history of the Crystal look.

I know it was originally designed for conectiva, to give a updated look by Everaldo.

By crystal style I was meaning this latest crystal craze.

I understand it all now. Everaldo invented it, you have mastered it, and the results are amazing.

This comment probably belongs on KDElook.org but anyway, regarding the crystal icons of now compared to the original set it looks like Everaldo did a good job of cleaning them up. He has also removed allot of the 3rd party icons too. The latest set looks great.

Your dock icons, and icon mods look pretty sharp too. Keep up the good work.

What an excellent theme. Many, many thanks to everyone concerned in making it. May I also add my wish for the msgina.dll and some mouseover action on the quicklaunch items, to complete the system. Also if the requests are to be fullfilled, I would like a skin for GetRight download manager if possible.

I have downloaded the "Crystal Remote" for WinAmp, would some kind person tell me how to apply it in WinAmp 3? Many thanks in advance

I think I perfer this version better then the first one. More flat imo. I like that. Beucase colors really don't matter when it comes to those log off screens. For one its all black in white when it happens. Hope to see both thoe.

Somthing I think is better also, is that it matchs my mobydock skin :D

But that windows logo in that one you should does kinda scew be away from it. Id want a kde logo.

anyone know if there's a KDE style similiar to the Crystal WB and MSStyle? if so i've yet to find one

i've been running keramik w/ the crystal icons on KDE 3.1 for a few months, but have not seen a style for KDE like this one, i'd like to though, as i like having my KDE & Windows desktops look pretty similiar

    • Apple Watch Series 11 GPS just crashed to 30% off in this fast-moving Prime Day deal by Karthik Mudaliar The Apple Watch Series 11 is available for $279, down from its $399 list price, saving buyers $120, or 30%. Amazon labels the offer as selling fast, so the current price may not remain available for long. This GPS model features a 42mm aluminum case, an Always-On Retina LTPO3 OLED display capable of reaching up to 2,000 nits, and an Ion-X glass surface with improved scratch resistance. Apple rates Series 11 for up to 24 hours of normal use or up to 38 hours in Low Power Mode, with fast charging providing up to eight hours of use from a 15-minute charge. Health and fitness tools include sleep scoring, temperature sensing, ECG support, heart-rate alerts, workout tracking, sleep apnea notifications, and hypertension notifications, where available. The watch also carries IP6X dust resistance and 50-meter water resistance. This configuration is best suited to iPhone owners who want comprehensive health tracking, notifications, contactless payments, and workout data without stepping up to a larger or cellular-equipped model. The smaller case should also appeal to buyers who prefer a lighter watch, while the S/M band fits wrists measuring 130mm to 180mm. With the current generation now significantly below its usual retail price, this is a strong time to replace an aging Apple Watch or buy a first model without compromising on Apple’s newest health and display features. • GitHub removes manual model selection from Copilot free and student plans by Karthik Mudaliar GitHub is removing the ability to manually select an AI model from its Copilot Free and Student plans, making its automatic routing system the default and only way to choose a model. This means users on these tiers will no longer be able to deliberately select a particular OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Microsoft model for a task. In its announcement, GitHub said Copilot Auto will dynamically choose what it considers the best model for each request. Free and Student accounts will retain access to models from multiple families, although the available selection will continue to depend on the restrictions attached to each plan. GitHub did not identify a fixed pool of models that Auto will always use, and its documentation warns that model availability can change over time. GitHub describes Auto as more than a random fallback system. On supported surfaces, its task-optimization technology evaluates the complexity of a request alongside real-time information about model health and availability. Straightforward prompts can be routed to faster and less expensive models, while more demanding coding tasks may be sent to higher-cost reasoning models. The company says this approach should reduce rate limiting, latency, and failed requests. Auto generally selects one model along natural prompt-caching boundaries rather than repeatedly switching models during a session, as GitHub found that mid-session changes increased costs without producing sufficient improvements in output quality. Users can still check which model generated a response. In Copilot Chat, the information appears when hovering over an answer, while Copilot CLI and the Copilot cloud agent display the selected model alongside their output. Auto is available in Copilot Chat, Copilot CLI, and the cloud agent, with the exact implementation and release status varying between supported development environments. The latest restriction follows several months of adjustments to Copilot’s individual plans. GitHub temporarily halted new Pro, Pro+, and Student subscriptions in April as it sought to manage demand and service reliability. It later introduced token-based billing and began gradually reopening individual-plan registrations on June 17. Alongside the picker change, GitHub is retiring the “Preview” label from Microsoft-developed models. It argues that the label is no longer necessary because Auto handles model routing and models are continuously updated behind the scenes.
