Yeah okay, I dont use a pirated Windows, mine is a legal copy. But I dont really like, that I?ll give Mr. Gates more access to my PC then before.:ermm:: >

No more, no less. That about sums it up. And really, who cares... do you think Mr. Gates himself is going to use this "higher level" of access to look through your porn collection? No I'm not attacking you personally, just the thought process that goes into those kinds of statements. Honestly, if you don't like the direction that Microsoft is taking Windows, install your choice of any number of other OS's. I know, I know... everyone always says that, but what else can you do? If you won't install a service pack that fixes numerous issues, then what other alternatives do you have but to run a "buggy" install of Windows?

Or I guess you could always learn how to hack your own shell32.dll:oo:pp

That looks pretty cool actually.

OK, here's the deal with Trill:

The best thing to do if you're gonna make a trill skin is make everything yourself!!! OK, so it's a port of the msstyle/wbskin, and you're also going to be using everaldo's icons, because there's no way I want to see whistler/xp icons all over a Crystalliazed Trillian skin :p

Permission from me will not be a problem if the skin's up to quality and the same will go for Everaldo: as long as it's good quality and doesn't make everaldo's icons look like sh*t there shouldn't really be a problem with permision.

Try to use everaldo's icons for taskbar icons as well, this saves asking another person for permission, since you're already asking everaldo.

but,

You will have to ask whosever code your using.

I was going to make a trill skin eventually, it was going to be along the same lines/style as this one appears to be going. I wouldn't have used that code though as it would take me a week or two to figure it all out.

btw to change colors look in this file C:Program FilesTrillianskinsWhistlerelements>colors.ini

i like the new theme i thought the gel type buttons on taskbar were okay but i like the gradient better. also for the shell u forgot to chage folders, u only have normal color and version1 where u should have normal color, crystal2, crystalf, crystalf2, so i just changed it to reflect that, so u should update it

grea job keep it up, the only thing i want now is a hover quick launch

In fact, I just went out and got all the Crystal Icons I could find and used Icon Packager to totally re-do my system to match these.

Now, if only we could get some mouseover action on the quicklaunch items it would go from 99.99% to 100% (in my opinion, but that's because I like mouse-overs :D ).

I'm using the WB version of this at work on my Win2K box. Heh, messes with all the other guys... ;)

so he's gonna release this soon

and thanx to Kid from Trillian Forums...

Ok honestly, I hope that does not get released. That skin is nowhere near complete and I hope no one gave him permission for that. I have talked to honz and he will be making a trillian skin, but he is really busy. I have seen some beta images and they look great and very original. This is not. (Please dont pester him to get the skin done)

That skin has very little effort put into it, though it does have some. Trillian skins are VERY time consuming and they take a lot of effort.

PLEASE dont let that be released.

Shalayer might want to change a bunch of stuff...

it's up to him'

i was just showing you peeps a peek

{edit} show me a screen shot of honz or whoever is making one {/edit}

yeah I like simple skins too, but all you appear to have done here is to replace the watercolor frame with the crystal frame and changed scrollbars, titlebar buttons. I mean......sh*t man! there's not even one crystal icon in there!!

I'll post a screeny later of what I have in mind.

BTW, if you ask me for permission to release this you'll get a big fat no.

holy **** chill ppl! hha

i didnt know he had posted a pic of it, not that i mind but hes right i havnt finished with it.

All i have dun is what i said in the original post changed the watercolor pics to crystal ones i still want to chnage all the icons over but it takes time sorry i have to sleep and it was a saturday after all :D, but i think for a first time skinning trillian and 2 hrs i didnt do that bad haha :-

i mite get a chance to work on it l8r but i have uni work to complete first and this isnt too high on my 'todo' list...

    • There is a default resolution setting in Settings > Display that can be changed with a click. You can also change the settings on a per-game basis. No CLI needed. Also, Steam has countless games that are not "[perpetual] alpha/beta games", so no need for the straw man. Plus you can use other stores as well. And console games (e.g. PS5) cost a fortune, which itself more than negates the price subsidy on the system, unless you plan on exclusively playing 1 or 2 games. It's true that you shouldn't buy a system that doesn't support the game(s) you want to play, but I think that's kinda obvious, and applies to every console as well as PC. I don't game in the living room and have no need of a Steam Machine, but there is a clear market segment that would find it useful.

RSS Guard 5.2.0 changelog: Added: Feed auto-fetch can now also be delayed while Feral GameMode is active on Linux and startup auto-fetch is skipped when GameMode is already active. (#2265) WebEngine builds can now use RSS Guard generated proxy auto-config (PAC) rules so article/web browsing follows per-account and per-feed proxy settings more closely. (#2273) Generated PAC rules now also cover related subdomains and use Public Suffix List data, so feeds such as feeds.bbc.co.uk can also proxy resources from images.bbc.co.uk. (#2273) Standard feeds can now define extra proxy domains, useful when article images, stylesheets or other page resources are loaded from a CDN or another domain that should use the same feed proxy. (#2273) RSS Guard now asks for proxy credentials when a WebEngine page needs proxy authentication and can fill credentials from the current feed proxy when available. (#2273) Network settings again include an option to ignore all cookies, which clears stored cookies and prevents new cookies from being accepted. Standard RSS/ATOM feeds can now individually ignore cookies while downloading feed data. Stored cookies can now be deleted from the Tools menu. Custom skin colors can now override the feed list article count color separately from feed titles, including a separate highlighted color. (#2275) Settings dialog can now search across available settings and highlight matching controls. (#1754) Standard RSS/ATOM feeds can now optionally be reported as broken when they are valid but contain no articles. (#2039) Standard RSS/ATOM feeds can now override the application-wide feed connection timeout per feed. (#1023) Tray icon can now use a custom background color and unread-count text color, with an option to reuse the generated icon as the application icon. (#1973) Support for more benevolent parsing of Gemlog entries (#2295). Article list can now show when an article was received by RSS Guard. (#947) Feed deep discovery now actually scrapes all links found in the website and checks if they are feeds or not. This greatly enhances usability of the deep discovery mode and discovers many more feeds than before. (#2306) Search boxes now show a small dot when the feed or article list is hiding some items because of active filtering. (#873) Articles now have a shortcut-assignable action to open the homepage of the feed they belong to. (#2060) Fixed: Parallel feed updates no longer crash when multiple update results are processed at the same time. (64cf521) Links in WebEngine articles opened from feeds such as Kill the Newsletter now open correctly instead of being swallowed by the embedded page. (#2272) Relative article URLs resolution was kinda broken. (#2282) Clicking article URL did not work when the URL had "fragment" set. (#2293) The default proxy setting now uses Qt/system default proxy behavior instead of forcing no proxy. (e0263ad) WebEngine article loading now keeps the current feed context, so feed-specific proxy credentials remain available while the article page loads.
