What's your opinion on FinePix S5200 Zoom?

I want to buy a DC these days, after searching on internet, I found FinePix S5200 Zoom maybe suit me.

Do you know it and could you give me some advice on this DC?

Should I buy it? Or Does it worth about $300 in my city?

If you are using it, does it work well?

I had the S5000 years ago. That is actually the old S5200 model with less Megapixels.

I always enjoyed to shoot with this camera before to buy a DSLR.

I fully recommend it

What about PowerShot S3 IS ?

Seems better, but it's about $450.

what is your budget?

Fujifilm S5200, S5500, Canon S2, Canon S3, Panasonic FZ7 are all awsome cameras but with different prices

I will personally always go with Canon or Nikon over anything else. Image quality is the best with them.

I've bought a Canon S3, I spent $510 for it with 1G SD card and 4 batteries.

It's perfect to me now!

i'd say don't. as an above poster said canon or nikon. it does depend on what you need it for though.

My dad had a Fuji S5100 it was awesome. it's basically the S5200 with 4MP instead of 5MP.

the camera was a joy to shoot with. only drawback was manual focus was a pain in the ass to set up :p

great camera.

PS.: for the curious ones, he sold his S5100 and bought a S9000 :)

well for the cost of the S3 you can get a pentax *ist DL( which is a dSLR and not slr-like, like the finepix s-series) with kit lens...

Again it all depends on what you want/need. Like pink floyd states, there's several other cameras in that price range that might interest you as well, try www.dpreview.com for reviews and image samples on the camera you intend to purchase.
