2. I wish I had seen this earlier, however, it was a gift so its not like i payed anything for it. Wouldn't be bad though if I wanted to go shower/do something else while leaving my can of Coke or whatever near the computer.

I received one as a gift. The plate does get cold, but the problem I realized even when I tried to build one of my own several months ago. The surface area on the bottom of a regular soda can is actually very small due to the fact of the dome underneath, it allows just a very small ring of aluminum to actually be in contact with the cooler plate, thereby drastically reducing heat transfer. My solution, eventually is to make a mold of the bottom of a can and cast a separate piece in liquid aluminum, so there is a solid piece of aluminum that comes in contact solidly with both the can and the plate. Plus it would be removable to clean, or place another glass on the cooler.

That's a fun idea. I think I'll build one myself with 2 USB ports (=double power :D), that's even more fun.

I would like a USB mouse that warms my hands, not cools my drink. Maybe a mouse with an extra USB plug to draw extra power. Its damn cold here.

why would you want a usb mouse that warms your hands? Your hands palms sweat after a long time of gripping the mouse. As for the chiller, it seems pretty much useless if it takes that long to cool it. I would just walk over to the fridge instead
