Help, Need To Network 2000 Pro With XP Home Edition.

i know this is the wrong place but its the place where everyone looks the most ..

i need to network a win2k machine with a windows XP home edition laptop

sum stupid reason it aint working

im using a cross over cable

enabled ics in the win2k

set everything to obtain auto ip on both machines

tryed using network wizard

wen i access the win2k on XP i get this message

MSHOME is not accessible. You might not have permission to use thi snetwork resource . Contact the administrator of the server to find out if you have access permissions

wen i access xp from the 2k it says network path not found

any ideas guys

win2k

my cable connection ics ticked in properties

LAN connection ip as 192.168.0.1

subnet 255.255.255.0

winxp

all auto

guess account turned on both machines

and if that doesn't work then uncheck "use simple file sharing" in any folder goto tools, folder options, view and it's all the way at the bottom.

Probably because of the stupid, totally unrelated, irrelevant, ignorant, out of the way place they put it.

Oh and that was for the XP box.

guys guys thanks for all ur support i fixed it but didnt have time to post

frekin hell i had the same config at home and i was doing it for my aunty but it just didnt work

i searched on google sum guy did the exact same thing

and dadada it was the stupid firewall
