I got this phone in Canada a few weeks back from Rogers. So far i'm loving it, no complaints. It's so beautiful, nice and small, i have it on me just about all the time.
When I was visiting Canada a few weeks ago, I passed by a Rogers store and there was ads all over the place for this phone, as it just came out.

There are rumors that Cingular may carry this phone, but I haven't heard any concrete details yet.

sorry for such a 'noob' question but how do I add wallpapers using my computer? I've downloaded some to my phone using the MMS home studio and get a message asking me to accept mms.tpl but they don't show up in the wallpapers section or anywhere else on my phone?

they are legit wallpapers too from http://www.myw810.lasyk.net/

Make sure you're putting the phone into USB file transfer mode. That will make the phone (and Memory Stick) appear as an external hard drive. Next, get the wallpaper(s) you want and put them into the X:\image\ folder. (Where x is the drive letter to your phone.)

I've also got a W810i.

Had it a while now two, maybe three months and I still think it's a cracking little phone. I actually downgraded from the W900i on Vodafone, basically it was getting too big for my liking and the W810i has (almost) everything the W900i has!

Just can't wait to get out of my contract with Voda now, only switched because of the W900i and I don't even have it now! Roll on June 2007 L :D

Over all I really like the phone, there are two things that bug me about it though compared to my old T630. The screen goes blank when you don't use it where as the T630 used to show the time which I used a lot (i know the w810i lets you press the volume button), also if you missed a call on the T630 it would show it on the screen but very very dim so as not to waste the battery. It was useful because I could wonder about the house and just glance at the phone when I came back to see if I missed any calls or got a message, but now I have to pick the phone up and clear the screen to see if anything has happened. Is there any way around this? I thought I'd get used to it but I've already missed a few calls and messages and only realised much later when I've had to use the phone.

These are two things I don't like about the phone, as well. From what I understand, the K750 used to have a standby clock, but since the W900, this feature has been removed in favor of a screen that simply blanks out. As for voicemails, the K750 also used to display them dimly. It seems that since then, SE has reworked the firmware to be more battery friendly, to the dismay of a lot of people. As far as I know, there is no way around this, even with firmware updates.

man, that'll be a real shame if it's not even possible through firmware updates. I would have thought it would be and I see a lot of people finding it a problem on various forums too.

The battery life on my T630 was great too, I could leave it for 6 days with very little use before it ran dead and that was with an old battery.

I too have lost the settings from SMS delivery reports?!?!?!?

They were there before my phone died and I had to reflash it..

I just have.

MESSAGING --> SETTINGS --> Txt Message... Then just two options; Service Centre and Max Length..

Anyone???

I have the exact same problem using my k750i and my FIDO SIM card. However, if I put one in from MTS Serbia it has these options available. Reports are supported by FIDO, as it works on my Siemens C65 and Nokia 3390. You might want to try a newer SIM card from your provider to see if it fixes the problem.

Your provider might not support them.

    • Why? Does anybody actually want this? The constant need to close all browser sessions and wait for a new version to install, just so that there’s a integrated coupon manager feels like a waste of everyone’s time
    • I remember when Louis used to just do interesting Mac/iPhone repairs, now he's boring and just launches "crusades" every week
    • A shame it don't allow people to bypass the MS account, I will stick to using Rufus.
    • Microsoft about to radically change how often your Edge browser updates by Paul Hill Microsoft has just announced that starting with Edge 152, it will be moving to a two-week release cycle for faster, smaller updates. This faster release cadence will begin on August 27. This change comes just several months after Microsoft switched Visual Studio Code to weekly updates. The company said that the Extended Stable releases will remain on an eight-week cycle and that no admin changes are needed to experience the faster release cycle on the Stable channel. The new two-week release cycle will enable the faster delivery of security updates and platform improvements, all while reducing the size and complexity of individual updates. Microsoft claims that organizations will benefit from this change as it offers predictable validation cycles. For organizations that prefer a “more deliberate pace”, the Extended Stable channel remains an option. This change will affect Edge Stable releases on Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile. The Extended Stable channel will continue to be updated every eight weeks, or every fourth Stable release, for example: versions 152, 156, 160, and 164. The Extended Stable could be a good option for organizations that don’t want the latest updates twice a month and don’t want as much hassle constantly updating browsers. In the case of Visual Studio Code, many of the updates being pushed by Microsoft are AI-related. As we all know, Microsoft Edge has a lot of AI features, so we could see Microsoft pushing more AI, thanks to the faster cycles. On the flip side, quicker releases could mean faster security updates, which is beneficial in a world where AI systems are hunting for software exploits. What do you think? Let us know in the comments. For more updates on Edge, be sure to follow Neowin's coverage. In May alone, we reported on Edge offering in-browser pop-ups to assist users with website compatibility issues, that Edge was losing Copilot Mode, and that Microsoft had fixed a plain-text password bug in Edge. • not yet, because at the moment it is not a threat to MS, if and I mean if it did become a threat to MS Office, then it may be a different thing. MS don't like competition
