There's more to that problem too. And yes, I bugged this one back in May. The fix isn't client side - it's on the Exchange server.

Here's the fix: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en

If you can't apply the fix, just set your OWA client to use the 'Basic' functionality and you can send replies, read contact info, etc again. FYI, Firefox clients are always in basic mode, so if you are thinking of installing FF just to get OWA working, it won't be any better than an IE client in basic mode.

Word is, this Exchange server fix will be in SP3.. Like we want to wait that long.

Sweet! Thanks!

Have you seen the new Exchange yet?

Anytime.

That bug came up at a bad time for me - I was offsite and needed info from one of my contacts and I was livid that I was getting nothing but the red X. I ended up remoting into another PC that didn't have IE7 on it and got what I needed. That'll learn me to install beta stuff on my work laptop.

Like everyone else, we're waiting on the beta to come out. Should be soon.

I'd say I'm excited, but at this point, why mess up things that work great already?

Ahh.. who am I kidding? Yeah. Looking forward to throwing it on a test server and playing with it.

For two more weeks, I'm in the US Air Force. I've been bounced between IT and Avionics for most of my career, so I have a great background in electronics as well as networking and software.

I'm retiring soon and going back into IT as soon as I spot a position that is where I want to live.

Exchange has always been a favorite of mine. I used to do consulting and on/off site server admin work in Washington DC all the time. This favorite has gotten me plenty of referral work, so I'll stick with it. A paid hobby? Woot!

I will admit to a lot of tinkering in linux/open source now too. "Exchange4Linux" is on one of my test boxes getting abused right now too. I like that it's so affordable, but I've grown to be a huge fan of OWA. The included SquirrelMail doesn't come close to the functionality I've gotten used to with Exchange.

    • ASUS ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE keyboard is 27% off on Amazon by Ivan Jenic The ASUS ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE is currently $159.99 on Amazon, down from $219.99. That's 27% off and $60 saved on a keyboard that combines retro and modern design, while being one of the most responsive and adaptable 75% boards available right now (purchase link down below). The ROG Falchion Ace comes with the HFX V2X magnetic switches that allow you to set actuation anywhere between 0.1mm and 3.5mm with 0.01mm fine-tuning steps. It also comes with Rapid Trigger, a feature that resets the key the moment you release it rather than waiting for a fixed reset point, which makes a noticeable difference in fast-paced games. And finally, an 8,000Hz polling rate should make the response time feel instant. The build quality is decent, with dense plastic and powder-coated aluminum, which is expected from a keyboard at this price point. There’s also the onboard adjustment wheel, which lets you tweak actuation and Rapid Trigger sensitivity without opening any software. For competitive gaming, the ROG Falchion Ace is hard to beat at this price. And those who appreciate old-school hardware, especially those white keyboards we’ve all grown up with, will likely also appreciate the looks of this keyboard. A carry case is included.
