iPod Programming


Question

hi every1...

i just bought ipod video, and installed itunes.

but itunes sucks...

so i wanna write a small app that can copy the music files from the ipod and copy to the ipod.

can any1 explain me or give me a good link that explains the basics?

i only found information about the iTunesDB file that stores all the playlist information & music files info on the ipod.

but i can't find info on the directory structure and how to add/copy files to the ipod.

thanks if any1 can help me with this...

check yamipod i dunno if its opensource but u might find info there :)

thanks for ur replies...

all that u gave me is itunes alternatives but i wanna write my own alternative.

i checked all the sites but no one provides source code...

if any1 can give me link to article that explains on how the files are stored on the ipod. cause i checked and the ipod have directory which have many more directories and in this directories stored the music files.

in each one about 20 files.

and also itnes renames the file names.

is there any reference for this files in iTunesDB file?

both are for interacting with the ipod in your own programs.
