Meh... its not like i'd get paid for spending hours writing reviews that big. if ya want to know anything else, tell me, and why post a review from Mobile Review, when i have linked pictures from there review, i know it exists, and read it a few times before buying my phone.

what you wanna know about ? i'll yet you know. :)

Cheers :).

I would be interested to know more about:

- How the OS differs from the K750i/W800i,

- What the speed of the OS is like,

- Walkman features,

- What is the display like on the phone,

- If the phone come with that Disc2Phone software that is used on the W800i,

- Do you find the phone to be to big or to small,

- What headphones came with the phone, and is it the same type of headphone port as the W800i,

I prefer end consumer reviews mostly. Like Dazzla's and various other member reviews on phones...

My quick summary: it kicks ass :p Shame I havent got a 3g SIM yet, since o2 forgot to send it to me

OS: Same as K750/W800i, with the exception of the new higher resolution screen (QVGA), meaning fonts are rounded, old themes wont work.

OS Speed: Very fast, I'm sure the new screen real-estate required a faster processor. I would put it slightly faster that my freshly-reset K750i, and the animations are a hell of a lot smoother.

Walkman features: not tried yet (I'll add another poot when I'm using my phone properly)

Display: Really awesome, more detail on the screen, icon animations are smoother, really bright.

Disc2Phone: Yes it comes with, never used it before on my k750i since it didnt support album/artist etc

Headphones: Same as the K750i ones. not bad, but not too good either, audio for me is a bit muffled and lacks clarity (am hoping to make my own adapter for a 3.5mm socket).

- Walkman features,

The K800i features the exact same Walkman of the W series (before the W850i), sans the branding.

- What is the display like on the phone,

It's the same as the S710a and W900i. That is, it's a fairly large QVGA screen. Very clear and has a nice sharp resolution.

Cheers :).

Dunno about the OS, i dont think there is much difference, except for the fact that i have a QVGA screen so i can display more shizzle, and the OS looks nicer..

The Speed, i mean usually i wouldnt have no issues, and i dont, but if you really and i mean really want to be picky its not instanteous, but hey no fone is like that, there is like a .1 second delay that is slightly noticeable.

Walkman features - Same as the w810i, walkman software version 2.0

Display. Crystal clear, and cos there isnt much distance between the cover and the screen the clarity is much much higher..

Disc2Phone ? no idea but the included software is pretty good, it does me fine..

Fone Size ? err its the same size as my spv c550, its a nice grip, colour, it also contains a killer digital camera so for what it includes the size is very good imo..

The headphones are crap imo, wayy to big and the same ones that come with the k750i.. i dont have intentions to use this for music, i have a 20gig Sony NW-A3000 for that, ( i like seperate devices for different things).. quality is good but nothing compared with my sony..

Overall i got the phone because i dont like to carry my digicam around with me, so the phone is good enough for snaps, prints and everything else..

This is supposed 2 be a v.good camera phone, and it fufils its purpose fantastically.

From coming from a smartphone, i like this much much better. the k800i is a v.good fone for texting, calling and things you should be doing with a phone, yet it allows you to take awesome pictures..

A example of macro mode:

dsc001219lb.jpg

I'll try and get a better image, lighting conditions wer ****e..

Thats about as much as i can add, if you need more then ask.

Ahh I am gutted about the headphones. Seeing as I use my W800i to listen to music, I would of done the same if I got a K750i. Since I cant use my own headphones then, that rules it out :(.

I bought the W800i headphones for my K750i (prefer in-ear and jack) so I'll be using them for the K800i.

I am just DIEING to get my hands on this phone offline! THeres a company called Freemans that have the phone listed for ?250 on O2 pay as you go, but they have it listed as 28 days for delivery! In terms of the headphones, you can pickup the authentic in-ear SE headphones for around ?10 delivered on ebay, just have a look in fact heres the link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-Sony-E-HPM-7...4QQcmdZViewItem

Hi.

I'm on the look for a new phone and have been looking at the SE K750i and SE K610i. Now I wnated to ask you guys, which one is the better? And which you would prefer.

Am I right when saying, that the camera is better in the 750?

Thanks,

Alex

among the 2 i'd go for K750i but the phone am gonna buy is K790i/a . There is already a very detailed review abt K750i here

I would also like the K790i, but the thing is, that here in Denmark it isn't released, and I only have 200 quid..

t0lerence: Delivered. Does that include Denmark? 10? isn't expensive..

I would consider this, but for one thing. The joystick.

My friend has had 3 SE phones break because of the joystick (it no longer recognises movements of the stick), and my phone is starting to suffer the same problem.

Please SE, do what you did with the W810i, and remove the joystick!

That issue is fixed in this phone, it was dust that got to the contacts on the stick so it didnt work proply (if you blow hard enough to move it, the stick should work fine) but on this phone they have sealed it more!

according to this http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=glo...1&pid=10409 this phone will be available in Denmark soon, but it doesnt say anything abt Hong Kong, anyone has any idea if they will release it here in HK ?

Well, I'm finally playing with mine... It's a sweet ass phone.

The protruding camera cover isnt as big an issue as I originally thought, since the phone is rather slender.

Still waiting for my 1GB m2 card to turn up, but the 64MB on-board is enough right now for a few tracks, and some games/vids.

Camera quality is really impressive for a phone, and has loads of options that I havent tweaked yet.

Some kick ass themes are being developed by people on esato and eseth also. Right now I'm using the default o2 animated theme, since it's clean, bright and functional.

Havent really tested the 3G speeds yet, since WAP is okay for a quick fix (news etc) Although the built-in RSS reader will prove really useful.

It wouldnt be so bad if GPRS wasnt so expensive :(

Yeah, exactly...I don't know why mobile networks havent introduced decent data tariffs since near enough all new phones are data-capable. It's a shame, they introduce new technology, but no way of supporting it in their price plans.

Right now I'm resorting to try and set up a bluetooth link via my pc and use that for wap.

    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.

    • There really isn't anything magical about the low latency profile, other OS's do this as well. All they're doing is using your CPUs boost clock options in a more smarter way.
    • So we shouldn't have the option because of people using their laptops on battery? OK? LOL
