Anyone having network issues in 5474.5?

Recommended Posts

The same problem is still present with 5728, I got it working once but haven't been able to since :(

either i got lucky or it seems slightly better in 5728. So far the network is working. Although i had to play with it a bit. Switching from dhcp to static seems to help.

Also, sometimes when i boot the network isnt working but if i wait a minute or two, it comes up.

fyi, when i just booted into vista now, the network wasnt working. it was showing packets sent but none recieved.

It was already set to a static IP address so i assume that means its not just dhcp.

however, when i switched to dhcp, and then went back to a static IP the network came up. So if anyone is having network issues, trying switching back and forth from a static IP and see if that helps.

FYI,

i emailed nvidia about this a while back. At first they said it was microsofts problem. But after speaking with them for a while they apparently grabbed the asrock939 dual and did some testing and came up with an updated driver. They emailed it to me last night. After installing the driver i completely shut down the pc and powered it off. Then booted back up. There was still a delay for the network to come up but this time it was only a delay of 3-4 seconds. And this morning there was no delay at all (maybe the first boot was a result of some final driver installation process).

I'm going to reboot it a few more times later today when i get home but so far it seems like this updated driver resolves the issue.

This is under vista ultimate RTM x86. Hopefully nvidia will post the driver they sent me on their site soon.

thanks merk! he sent me the new driver (.352) that solves the problem with vista rtm.

i've checked asrock ftp and in fact the driver is also available here since a few days.

here's the address:

ftp://download.asrock.com/drivers/ULi/LAN/Lan(352).zip

i hope this will help.

see you
