Zirus
I have 2 questions about fiber optic cable. 1) Can I have 2 fiber optic switches at the end of one fiber cable with one switch at 100 Mbps and the other at 1000 Gbps? I know the system will only operate at 100 Mbps, but will it work at all? 2) Is there a different fiber cable that has to do 1000 Mbps? Or, can the fiber I have right now ( which is about 10 years old) do 1000 Mbps? Thanks for the advice! :D
garethevans1986
1) Yeah should be alright BUT the line will run at the slowest speed over the line...eg 100Mbps 2) If the switch supports the connector and the fiber cable will acctually run at that "speed/frequency" then yes but worth checking.
