RIAA Sues LimeWire Over Piracy

Recommended Posts

RIAA claims that LimeWire's business model allows it to profit from the piracy trade, and its failure to block copyright content is a sign that the company is actively encouraging its users to pirate music.

lol.. You know, that logic can be applied to a whole lot of legitimate services.

Actually, the larger they are, and the larger communities they have, the more likely it is to happen.

i dont care.

limewire sucks....

if i was them my defence would be "our application sucks, only noobs use it anyway"

Stop trying to act like everyones going to be impressed with you comment.

Limewire is a fine application, unless of course you had trouble using it

Good. There is no place in the world for Piracy. Get a job and BUY the music.

OMG, I could get a job?! And can buy music??!! My god you'r a genius!!

Too bad am stupid and life sucks, so why bother :/

Well yeah the RIAA does suck. I've used Napster, Kazaa, Limewire...the whole nine...the thing is they all end up getting loaded with spyware and corrupted downloads courtesy of the RIAA. Now 50 of my closest friends use WASTE and BT...and between us you can find most anything.

Yeah i aint a big fan of the RIAA either lol! But u are all right Limewire is gettin worst and worst there is alot of dodgy stuff on there now pretendin to be wat its not....so time to migrate :p

sooooooo Wats this 'WASTE' program like?? :shifty:

RIAA can Eat my Ass for all i care i hate them. Limewire have made efforts to got Legal just look at there site and the App its self. The filters that are there work perfect :) all mine are legal so i think the RIAA should shut the F**K up for once.

I have a job, and I buy music. I also download music, because some files are too hard to find, plus I'm not going to spend $20-25 every single cd, it's just ridiculous.

When you download Limewire there's a "I will not use this for copyright infringment" option you have to check before you can download... I doubt Limewire will settle and I hope to hell they go to court and win.

so.. lets do some math here

Illegal occurance happens once every second

1 day = 86,400 seconds

86,400 times a day

86,400 x $150,000 = $12,960,000,000

thats a lot of money a day :|

Wow, (reads up on Limewire.com)...founded in 2000...thats 6 years in operation....(does the math)...

$28,382,400,000,000 (roughly)...$28 trillion dollars??? :|

First they sued Napster and everyone switched to WinMX. Then they sued WinMX, everyone switched to LimeWire. Now they sue LimeWire and everyone will move on to some other P2P program...

There's always BitTorrent though which IMO is a lot better than LimeWire.

Yeah, I'm all over BitTorrent these days :)

Get a job and buy my music for me. If it means that much to you, then this shouldn't pose a problem. You'll be doing the right thing.

Yeah really, DRM (N) I mean, we are getting restricted for things we bought and own.. oh wait, its a LICENCE! So now they can say anything, and even ripping a CD is illegal, thats ridiculous.

Its not like I dont buy my music though, but whatever. CDs arent that expensive anyway, and good thing I live in Canada.

    • Alien Isolation 2 will bring a new protagonist and setting, watch the reveal trailer here by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Only a few weeks ago, Sega and Creative Assembly dropped a teaser for a new Alien Isolation. Today at Summer Game Fest, Alien: Isolation 2 was officially announced with a new trailer while also confirming a whole lot of information about the setting of this survival horror project. Check out the reveal trailer above. Leaving behind the Sevastopol space station, the sequel will take players to a remote colony world. With a Xenomorph (or more) on the loose, players will be navigating both the surface of the weather-ravaged planet as well as "the claustrophobic confines of the Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station." Interestingly, Creative Assembly is leaving behind Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Alien's Ellen Ripley, as the protagonist too. While it hasn't confirmed a name yet, players will be taking the role of a new character for this new adventure. The setting is also being described as a new hunting ground for the Alien. This will have players improvising and developing new tools to aid in their survival and escape, all to avoid "cinema’s deadliest killer." "It has been over a decade since we created the original Alien: Isolation and I am so excited to show everyone the first glimpse of the sequel," says Al Hope, Creative Director at Creative Assembly. "Our dedicated Survival team at Creative Assembly has been working hard to create a new, evolved Isolation experience continuing the legacy of the Alien franchise, making the eponymous killer smarter, the environment harsher and the chance of survival slimmer." Promising the same deadly tension from the original from over a decade ago, Alien: Isolation 2 is in development for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. A release date has not been announced yet.

    • Like the article stated, it's written completely from scratch, unlike the umpteen Chromium clones. It got its start as the browser built-in to the also written-from-scratch SerenityOS.
    • Hello, From looking at the screen shots in your motherboard's manual at https://endownload.colorful.cn/EnDownload/MotherBroard/2022/Intel 600/Manual/Intel 600 Series BIOS English/Intel 600 Series BIOS User Guide.pdf, you go to the ADVANCED option at the top of the BIOS (UEFI) menu, then select SECURITY in the list of options on the left.  From there  you can enable and set the Secure Boot mode.
