gamerdan1
does anyone know if replacing the screen on a laptop is easy?
Jeston Veteran Posted August 7, 2006 Veteran Share Posted August 7, 2006 Well, I would consider it easy, but then again I've literally replaced almost everything in this laptop including the motherboard, so the screen is no problem.
sfalcon
Generally there's just some screws to remove and a connector to disconnect/reconnect. I'm assuming you have the whole lid/screen/bezel as one piece. If not, then there's just some more screws to remove, haha. Try googling "replace laptop screen <your model>" and someone has probably posted a how-to.
mrp04
If it is a dell, they have detailed documentation on how to take apart and put together your whole laptop! You just click ont he part you want to replace and it shows what to remove, etc. I found this very nice, although I have never really had to use it. I do not think other manufactures are so generous and let the user do this, they would rather them send it in and pay a lot or buy a new one.
