Vista RC1 Build 5505.6

I've got my hands on Vista (pre)RC1 Build 5505.6. I'm unsure how different this is to 5492, but big improvements from 5472 - more polish and performance is improved.

Here's what changes since 5472 I've noticed thus far

- Updated boot screen (almost, it still only a progress bar, but it's in colour)

- Updated logon screen. The background graphic is looking better

- Minimise/Maximise animations and have changed slightly

- More updated icons especially in Control Panel

- Updates icon selection square

- Windows Mail updates

- updated progress bars (even Firefox progress bars look as expected)

- The display issues I've had with my laptop and an external monitor seem to have been fixed

Desktop

New Network

Control Panel, Classic View, Large Icons

Sound applet

Start Menu properties

Windows Mail

Computer Management

Sync Centre

Firefox, notice the updated area behind the menus and toolbars

Help and Support, showing new progress animation seen in some places

Menu items with icons attached

Volume

Security with new icons(?)

Windows Update

Add Gadgets dialog showing orange colour theme

Add Contact

Windows Media Player

Windows Media Centre

And finally, Aero Glass, with full minimise/maximise/flip3d etc. effects on a remote machine via Remote Desktop!

RC isnt even out yet, unless you got a "Pre" RC or even a "post" beta 2 bulid....

Performance has improved noticably. I've been upgrading since Beta 2, so this is not a fresh install.

They look like that because he has chosen "Thumbnails" in the folder's view properties, normally they don't look like that.

nice screens; they do need to get rid of those add fonts dialog icons lol, I read somewhere on the newsgroups that they had updated something there in future builds but I'm not sure what exactly they said, hopefully those will be updated too.

Eww they need to update the icons in the Add Font dialog screen! Those icons were from WAY back in Win 3.1!
