how does 5505 compare overall to the previous releases?

installation time?

boot time?

resume from hybernate?

sleep mode (has this been fixed?)?

responsiveness of graphics?

cheers!

It's a result of a bug. There are a couple of bugs in this build in the taskbar including screen flashing around the Start Menu and Media Player not drawing correctly when minimised to the taskbar.

I have the build 5472 on a PC with overall performance = 1.0 and these are my stats:

CPU 2.3 (very old P4 1.7GHz)

RAM 3.1 (768 MB)

GPU 1.0 (very old ATI radeon 7500)

HD 3.3

Ultimate Edition

installation time = 45 min

boot time < 10 seconds

mem: 50%

graphics: very fast with basic interface

On Vista everything is faster than Windows XP

I have submitted a bug report about a clock being visible on the Welcome Screen, I haven't recieved a reply yet, but I'll post when I do! :)

Maybe if all guys of this forum send an email about the clock, they'll take it in consideration.

Where do you submitted a bug report? :)

FYI, you can find out on Microsoft Connect, and I submitted it where your supposed to!

I'll probably have a response tomarrow! ;)

any of you beta testers out there can check if a request has been answered by microsoft on the Connect feedback of vista?

a clock is very needed in the welcome screen because its displayed alot when users arent logged in on a kitchen computers/home offices

Go read the Vista newsgroup.... In the announcements. It was posted today.

"First, we are working on getting a new build out to you to test....."

"You should not expect a new build to arrive this week, but when it does I?ll ask that you do the following:..."

There you go. Lets all wait a little longer.

since the featureset is pretty much locked down i doubt a feature request this late in the game would be able to make it in. But you never know, what's the bugid for that suggestion?

Here is the Feedback fourm:

Sidenote: looks they updated this, and the other pages of the vista site with teal and "aurroa" fell. It also looks like they updated some screenshots.

A lot better, cleaner in my opinion :)
