Pallab
Some Lost tidbits here I am quoting some portions What you might also be feeling is that kind of sense that we're basically working on Episode 60, so that's a lot of hours to not know, "What's the nature of this island? Where is this island?" The overarching mysteries of Lost remain unanswered. But those questions have to remain unanswered until the show ends. That's something we don't know and we're not in control of when it is going to end. We will attempt to answer some of the transitory questions, but obviously, the big ones have to stay unanswered. We believe audiences aren't really asking, “When are we going to get our answers?” They're asking, "Are we going to get our answers?" And that's a very savvy question for them to be asking, because of the nature of the television business, it's sort of like, "Are they just stringing us along?" And all Carlton and I can say is that we are absolutely committed to giving you those answers. We know what the answers are, and we're telling them in the most creatively satisfying way for us as storytellers. Q :One other complaint I'm hearing this season is that new mysteries are being presented before old ones are solved. Can you say anything about that? Carlton: We're always in this sort of balancing act. [We want] to keep the audience engaged by the underlying mysteries of the show, but we also want to try to answer questions and give people some satisfaction. And I think maybe the pendulum has swung a little too much into the “Well, we need more answers” category, and we try to be attentive to that. I think there are some upcoming episodes — after the break in the spring — that will answer a number of the open questions. We certainly plan to tell the audience this year how Locke got in the wheelchair. We'll be getting a lot more detailed about what happened to Locke, Eko and Desmond following the immediate aftermath of the hatch exploding, imploding or potentially doing something else. We're doing a flashback story where you'll find out how Jack got his tattoos. Q :And what about the outside world? Damon: Obviously, this is the big sort of dangler from Season 2. We broke perspective off the island for the first time — at least that's what we're leading everybody to believe — and, certainly, that ball is in motion and rolling down the hill at a very fast rate. That is pretty much what begins to dominate Season 3 once we come back from the break. It takes a couple of episodes to get up to speed, but the fact that the island may have been seen is pretty much the entire story arc of the second half of the year. Q :You guys have been quoted as saying you're going to drop a "bomb" during the second half of the season. Damon: There are two bombs being dropped, one of which is a character bomb, and that will happen within the first three episodes after the break. And the other is a more significant story bomb, a game-changer, as it were, and that will happen shortly after. Sheppard
They are treading a very fine line, im 50/50 to just stop watching because im sick and tired of questions with no answers, but on the other side i need to keep watching to find those answers. thefonz
I stopped watching after the first 2 episodes of season 3. Now I'll just get my answers from the interweb. Main reason is that episodes are too uninteresting and slow to hold my attention. Which is not to say I dont like slow and buildup shows (huge fan of House, Heroes, 24 etc); but this is just way too much. Beanz
how come in the first season when we used to see the others theywere all dressed up in worn out clothes and they were all dirty and stuff. but now theyre all kinda sophisticated and neat and stuff like that? Hey everyone, sorry to jump on so late in the game! About the others being dressed up in worn out crappy clothes etc... Could this be another faction of the Others? I seem to recall someone posting or a podcast mentioning a number of factions within the Others. Maybe the "dirty" others are one such faction or maybe even outcasts, infected with something?? Anyway, that's my two cents. Hopefully I can contribute a little more now I'm in... Oh, one more thing! Did we ever learn why Ben was wandering around the jungle when he was caught? Do you think he allowed himself to be caught? Was he on his way to the losties, seeking out Jack?? I think maybe I missed that episode... Raven
Since Kate found the makeup kit we know they were putting on a act. There isn't another set of 'Others' but a single group of people who love to play mind games. Ben was captured by the French woman. I don't think that was planned. Maybe the "dirty" others are one such faction or maybe even outcasts, infected with something?? No--I don't think so. They are the same others who work for Ben directly, as seen when Ethan was talking to Mr. Smiley when Claire was in the baby room. The disguises were meant to mislead the losties so the village would never be discovered. Beanz
Thanks for the info everyone. Since we learned Ben has the tumour I was actually thinking that Ben might have been going to the losties to get Jack so he could do the surgery. How do you think the French woman will fit back in now we've seen her daughter(?) with the others yet helping the losties? Rappy Veteran Posted November 8, 2006 Veteran Share Posted November 8, 2006 Charlie crossover confirmed. Henry Ian Cusick and Dominic Monaghan were rehearsing a quick scene. Charlie is playing guitar on a street corner, and Desmond comes up and talks to him. It seems as if he has an epiphany. ?This is happening!? Hmm. The crossover, of course, is just a bit of whimsy. The main scene is Desmond storming out of Widmore Industries and throwing his tie to the ground. Guess a meeting didn?t go well. Raven
Why put spoiler warnings on the thread then whine about spoilers? Why can't people take responsibilities for their own actions and not look at the thread until a certain time? Is there some mandatory viewing of the thread that forces people to look? People... take responsibility for your own actions. Don't look at the thread until you've seen the episode. How hard is that??????????? People have a natural desire to discuss a powerful episode while fresh in their minds. This whole spoiler tag usage on a thread marked as a spoiler thread is ridicules. Now, on to the episode. When is Kate going to tell Jack there is nowhere to run? Even if Jack does complete the surgery, the possibility of infection is huge. I can't see Jack getting away with this.
