Lost - Season Three

Recommended Posts

Charlie crossover confirmed. Henry Ian Cusick and Dominic Monaghan were rehearsing a quick scene. Charlie is playing guitar on a street corner, and Desmond comes up and talks to him. It seems as if he has an epiphany. ?This is happening!? Hmm.

The crossover, of course, is just a bit of whimsy. The main scene is Desmond storming out of Widmore Industries and throwing his tie to the ground. Guess a meeting didn?t go well.

I take it this was a bit of filming that someone witnessed and reported about? Obviously, nothing like this has been shown in any preview yet...

Maybe I'm just missing clues here, but does anyone else notice that there are a lot less "background" clues as there used to be? It seemed that other seasons would have a TV image in the background, or a name on a sign, a person crossing off to the left, something that tied everything together? Am I missing them or are there just none this season?

I love the idea of the show, but I must say I was extremely disappointed with last nights episode. Why waste the majority of the show giving us the details of Kate's marriage, when it has nothing to do with the mysteries going on here. I feel like some of these flashbacks are just "fillers" and then we get a few minutes of the good stuff. Anyone else feel the same?

The directors (or those behind the show anyway) were quoted in EW that there would be a lot less of that this season and a lot more about relationships etc (like Kate hooking up with someone etc). I don't know about the rest of you but all the little things that were going on during the show that made everyone hypothisize what the hell was going on is what made the show for me.

But yeah, besides Desmond being able to predict the future there really isn't much of that going on. I lose more and more interest with each new episode. This show should have been made with a max of 3 years or something so there was less time for abrams to f up the show like he did with Alias. Jump the shark? I think so

I agree, it was all those little things that made you want to talk with your friends the next day about it. "Wow, did you notice that Sayid was on the TV when Kate was talking to her dad?" <- That kind of stuff really made the show cool.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Kate's flashback definitely felt like filler but I think it was in there to show some change in Kate's behavior when looking at her past. Someone who was always on the run the but now worrying more than just herelf. I wouldn't go as far as suggesting that all the flashbacks are filler though. It's a nice way of developing a character

One big thing about that. Every guy Kate has been has died (although did she just knock out that cop husband or did she kill him?). She is now with Sawyer and she obviously is desperate to keep him alive. But it makes you wonder at some point that faced with a choice what she will save...her life or his.

Why put spoiler warnings on the thread then whine about spoilers?

Exactly. I dont see the point to use the spoiler mark on a thread where the subtopic clearly say "Spoilers & theories - be warned!"

and about the ep. Well. Should be called "Where is the plot?". The fat guy trying to kill Sawyer for the 'n' time. (yea, Sawyer, the "rude" guy that was tortured on his hands by Sayid, the same guy who was twice shooted in the shoulders, and a lot of the times smashed (by a woman, Eko, etc, etc))... Looks like they are running out of ideas and now Kate was married with a cop! (not only she kill her step father (remember her driving the bike?, I almost die laughing). she also assault, her childhood boyfriend was killed because of her and a the list seems is almost infinite). Damn, that part (on this episode) where she calls the detective remember be that DiCapio movie, Catch Me If You Can. And again, I almost die laughing :D

I was wondering, how old they really are, because with all that background on their life, they must be about 200 years old (at least).

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
