Lost - Season Three

I say cut down on the flashbacks and progress with the "now" stories. It seems like flashbacks are taking as much time as the current events, though I haven't actually kept a tab on how this was done in the first two seasons. This should allow them to get a lot more of the story out there.

I really enjoy the flashbacks myself. I like getting to know the characters and their rich history. The problem isn't that there are to many flashbacks, the problem is the current events are offering up more questions than answers. If they'd stop bringing up more questions and answer a few that's been around for a long time (aka the shark from Season One, etc.), then I'd be a happy camper with Lost.

Season 1 covered 42 days on the island

Season 2 23

Season 3 16

Sad that a show with such a perfect season one has turned into something I have to watch because I've invested so much time and money into. It should be a show that I want to watch, but instead I dread watching it. I've said it before, I'll say it again: if the show were to be canceled right now, I honestly don't think I'd be disappointed. Sad :(

See the patteren...... so if it does contune, we'll have 6 seasons...
Where do you get 6 seasons? Nothing in those declining numbers gives me 6 seasons. All that is doing is just stating how many days the season covered. We don't know how many days the series will cover and besides that we don't know how many days season three will cover. I haven't seen anything official that states season three will be 13 days or 20 days.
i also read some where the end date for lost will be

may 24th 2010

That sounds speculative at best. If they are just now trying to decide when the end should be, I think that date is completely made up IMO.

Lol looks like we don't have a true lost fan j/k  ... 42, 23, 16, (do you see where this is going now  ) 15, 8, 4 = 6 numbers = 6 seasons...

That doesn't necessarily have anything to do with how many seasons there are. If that were true, each number would have something to do with their corresponding season wouldn't it? I think you're reading to much into it.

pure speculation. If the rating still droping like is doing right now, the show will end on this season :p

Yeah!!!...I think the next part of the season will seriously rock if they get it right and be a great ending in which I read earlier

Promised the season finale to involve Desmond and Penny

so that's gonna be cool :)

I think we can assume that they were lying. No true lost fan would hold on to an episode for this long just "because".

I think a season 4 should be done.. but that should be it. :)

These were critics if I'm not mistaken, which have actually been given at least the first episode of the second half of the third season.

I think the current status with the leak so there will be no leak...I think the sources who said they had it didnt and just wanted cause attention tho the owner of a lost fansite does have connections to a critic who had it when asked if he could loan it the critic said no more then his life's worth...that sums it up really :)

he's just pointing out the pattern of the numbers showing up in the entire series in order counting down. it may turn out to be nothing but it's interesting that three numbers all in order have shown up. if it does turn out to be the number of days left in each season, then the seasons seem to be focusing more and more only on a smaller set of time as the seasons progress. this would also mean d-day would be on the 108th day. again.. maybe it doesnt mean anything but it's interesting that a pattern seems to be emerging.

If this pattern is true, the final season may start in january rather in sreptember/october...

The whole numbers and season theorie wasn't from me, rather then another lost fan on a lost dissustion borad

Picking at Straws comes to mind...there hasn't been any definite end date...but I can see why people would want to guess :)

I don't see why this would have to require an end date as opposed to other shows. I mean, what other TV show has to set an end date to finish telling the story? Surely people didn't think 24 would go into six seasons, or seven for CSI. Are FOX and CBS to now require an end date to those shows? Requiring an end date just doesn't seem logical. Having a goal in mind is good, but having to say "this is where it all ends no matter what" just seems so out of place. This doesn't mean that there shouldn't be something to end the show at, by no means, but it seems restricting to the writers who want to tell so much. Of course, delaying the inevitable is far worse.

I don't see why this would have to require an end date as opposed to other shows.
Lost is nothing like most other shows. This isn't like CSI, 24, or other shows like those. This show has a beginning: the plain crashing on the island; and a middle: find the hatch and the "Others"; and an ending: what the island is all about, what the hatches are all about, who the others really are, and of course getting off the island. Of course there has to be an ending, there's no possible way to keep it going because fans will loose interest a lot faster than with other shows and that has been proven because of the poor ratings that season two and the beginning of season three brought.

I understand those reasons, but I still don't think it has to force an end date so long as the show can maintain interest, which it hasn't because people, and ABC, are demanding answers and not more questions. Unfortunately, the show is only aired once a week so they can only tell so much within the approximate 43 minute window that they are alloted.

1. The first line in the episode is ''Hello,'' and it is uttered by one of the most menacing and mysterious characters in the Lost verse.

2. If you want to get a head start on the homework you'll be doing after watching the episode, investigate the following: Edmund Burke, A Clockwork Orange, and A Brief History of Time.

3. For the second straight episode, there is a fleeting yet conspicuous reference to the name ''Jacob.'' This time, the context is decidedly religious.

4. According to recent statements by the producers, and per the timeline that's been suggested in the show, the events that are currently transpiring in Lost are taking place in late November 2004, possibly very early December 2004. At the end of ''Not In Portland,'' a character reveals the exact amount of time that he/she has been on the island. When you do the math, you will get an Estimated Date that comes suspiciously close to the exact date of an infamous, real-world catastrophe. Coincidence?

    • KillerPDF 1.5.1 by Razvan Serea KillerPDF is a lightweight, portable PDF editor for Windows built for users who want full control without subscriptions, installers, or telemetry. It runs as a single executable, making it ideal for USB use and field work. You can view PDFs with smooth PDFium rendering, navigate quickly with thumbnails, zoom, and shortcuts, and reorganize pages using drag-and-drop. It supports merging multiple PDFs, splitting documents, and extracting selected pages. KillerPDF also allows inline text editing with font matching to preserve the original layout, plus annotations like text boxes, freehand drawing, highlights, and reusable signatures. You can search full text, copy content easily, and print documents with flattened annotations. Designed as a free and open alternative to bloated PDF tools, it works fully offline on Windows 10/11 x64. No runtimes install. Everything needed is inside the EXE (targets .NET Framework 4.8, which ships with every supported Windows release). KillerPDF key features: High-quality PDF rendering via PDFium Edit PDF text inline (double-click to modify text) Page thumbnails and fast navigation with zoom and shortcuts Merge multiple PDFs into one Split PDFs and extract selected pages Drag-and-drop page reordering Font matching to preserve original document appearance Text boxes for notes Freehand drawing tools Highlight overlays with adjustable color, size, opacity Undo actions and clear per-page annotations Create, draw, and save reusable signatures Click-to-place signatures anywhere Full-text search with highlighted results Drag-select or Ctrl+A to copy text Print with annotations flattened Portable single-file app (~10 MB) No installer, no admin rights required No account, no telemetry KillerPDF 1.5.1 changelog: Performance Save Flattened PDF now uses multiple CPU cores. Page rasterization is parallelized (PNG encoding runs across cores; the PDFium render step stays serialized since the library isn't thread-safe), so large documents flatten significantly faster while the UI stays responsive (#68). Fixed PDFs that failed to open with "Unexpected EOF" now open (#72). The failure was PdfSharpCore's Flate inflater (SharpZipLib) rejecting the FlateDecode cross-reference stream on multi-revision PDFs - files that open fine in browsers, Acrobat, and Foxit. KillerPDF now detects this and re-opens the file losslessly through PDFium, preserving selectable text. Thanks to @javajon for the report and a detailed reproduction. Grid view renders every page. It was capped at the first 26 pages, so longer documents stopped loading partway through. Tiles also stream in progressively now instead of blocking until the whole document is rendered. Grid Ctrl+Scroll no longer reloads every page when the zoom is already at its limit and nothing would change. Removed a stray horizontal scrollbar (a thin green line) that could appear across the bottom of grid view. Files on UNC / network shares (including the WSL \\wsl$ filesystem) are copied locally before opening, avoiding partial-read failures on network filesystems. Changed Minimum zoom lowered from 10% to 5%, so grid view can pack more columns (helpful for wide/landscape pages) and single-page view can zoom out further.
