Lost - Season Three

Recommended Posts

1. The first line in the episode is ''Hello,'' and it is uttered by one of the most menacing and mysterious characters in the Lost verse.

2. If you want to get a head start on the homework you'll be doing after watching the episode, investigate the following: Edmund Burke, A Clockwork Orange, and A Brief History of Time.

3. For the second straight episode, there is a fleeting yet conspicuous reference to the name ''Jacob.'' This time, the context is decidedly religious.

4. According to recent statements by the producers, and per the timeline that's been suggested in the show, the events that are currently transpiring in Lost are taking place in late November 2004, possibly very early December 2004. At the end of ''Not In Portland,'' a character reveals the exact amount of time that he/she has been on the island. When you do the math, you will get an Estimated Date that comes suspiciously close to the exact date of an infamous, real-world catastrophe. Coincidence?

I want to know what

that world event is...lost have already said it isnt the tsunami

I think it might be

9/11.

'll give you a few broad strokes, but I hate to ruin the good surprises.

First off, I quite liked it. Lots of action, and flashbacks I found enlightening (although I have friends who have seen it and disagree).

Juliet: the flashbacks are hers, and the ep opens on her, giving her apparently sick sister an injection of some kind of experimental drug. Juliet is living in Miami, working in a lab for her sadistic (my word) ex-husband. She gets a job offer from a firm "in Portland" that had been impressed by the fact that she had impregnated a male field mouse. I won't give away my "holy s---" moment, but suffice to say she sells her soul to take the job. After hearing the company isn't quite in Portland, she agrees to a six-month commitment.

On the island: The clock is ticking for Ben. Kate and Sawyer run, but are pursued (that's where the shooting on the beach comes in). They escape with Alex's help. Alex promises to give them a boat if they'll help her rescue Carl; creepiness ensues. Ben wakes up and overhears some back-and-forth between Jack, Juliet and some other Other (I can never keep their names straight; sorry), including the fact Juliet had asked Jack to kill Ben. Juliet has a private chat with Ben, after which she leaves to help Kate and Sawyer escape.

In the end, Ben survives, and Jack asks Juliet what they said to each other. She says he promised to finally let her go home. She's been there 3 years, 2 months and 23 days.

That's the broad strokes anyway, and again, I liked it, even though my Lost bitterness has been pretty high this season.

So it does line up with 9/11 if you do the math, i wonder what the connection is......

That must mean juliet is

Osama Bin Laden

which explains why he couldnt be found...

I really hope it has nothing to do with

9/11

, just wouldn't be right.

I doubt that it will. 9/11 was in 2001, this is three years after 9/11. I guess it is possible, but I doubt that it has anything to do with 9/11. I'm trying to think of things that happened in 2004 that would be big. It isn't the election either because Ben has already stated that the Red Sox won the World Series and the US reelected Bush, so that isn't it.

I don't see anything major other than the US Election and the tsunami: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004#November

I havent been reading this thread lately but why is there all these rumors that LOST event is related to a real world event?

Basically it was revealed that sometime in the early episodes of the second part of Season 3 you will learn that

what desmond did with that fail safe key started something off that a was a world changing event

She's been there

we arent looking for events in 04, we're loooking events that happened

3 years, 2 months and 23 days

from the time they are at now, end of November, very early december 04.

No the real world event is when Desmond uses the fail safe key, which is... err.. what December 2004? So something around then. She has been on the island since

2001

then.

Assuming theres no kind of funky time delay on the island.. which could make things complicated. :\ For example, John's leg healed very quickly.. so either the island can heal, or time passes very quickly, in which case the real world event could be very recent.

Since its supposed to be november/december

I spose it doesn't have to be a single event, it can be it sending the world rather screwy with storms and what not.

Ben told Jack just prior to him agreeing to do the surgery that they had been there 69 days, Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 departed from Sydney, Australia on September 22 2004 (2004-09-22), roughly two days have past since jack agreed. puts the date around december 3 2004.

minus 3 years= 2001

minus 3 months= september

minus 22 days= 11th

If that is right then... W T F

Well...

if Juliet turned out to be Bin Laden I would not be very happy considering I think Juliet is gorgeous!

Yeah bin laden went to drastic mesaures to be avoided in the world :D

As for that Lost moment that was alright I suppose I think ABC should strongly stop them because unless they want to air the full episode I really see no point in them

The Ultra 9 185H features 16 cores and 22 threads running at up to 5.1 GHz. It also includes a dedicated NPU utilizing Intel AI Boost at 11 TOPS. On the graphics front, the 185H includes the still fairly capable ARC Graphics (not to be confused with the newer ARC 140T) integrated GPU with a max GPU frequency of 2350 MHz across 8 Xe-cores. It has been said that the iGPU is equivalent to the NVIDIA GeForce 3050 and GTX 1650 in gaming and synthetic benchmarks. Other highlights include an AMOLED display, LPDDR5x memory at 7467 MT/s, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and a fingerprint sensor built into the power button. AI PC? Although the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H includes a dedicated NPU, it's only 11 TOPS; therefore, it does not qualify as a Copilot+ PC. However, it can reach up to 33 TOPS with a combination of NPU, CPU, and GPU. As I said, although we only reviewed the X14 Pro, the unboxing is the same for the X16 Pro, which I noted in my review. The packaging is quite a nice experience. The outer box houses the X16 Pro box with a small compartment that contains the 5-in-1 Dock ($40 value), which appears to be an "Early Bird" inclusion. Upon removing the box cover, the X16 Pro is revealed sitting in a cardboard compartment with two small booklets of documentation. To the left of the X16 Pro are two cardboard compartments containing the 65W charger and Type-C USB cable. What’s In The Box 1 x GEEKOM X16 Pro Ultra-thin Laptop 1 x Type-C to Type-C cable 1.8M 1 x 65W GaN PD Fast Charger 1 x Warranty Card 1 x Thank You Card 1 x User Guide All products sold by GEEKOM receive a 3-year free Warranty from the date you receive the product.
