Lost - Season Three

Claire & Jack are related? Says who?!

Anyway, that was a GREAT episode. I just love Locke, he's so *&*@# casual about everything.

Thank god we didn't see Jack again. It's amazing how ABC turned him from almost everyone's favorite to one of the more annoying characters with his ridiculous sarcasm and smile.

This episode says two things:

1) Dharma was good,

2) Dharma and Hanso knew about the "hostiles"

3) Hostiles are there for a reason, and it's nothing to do with continuing Dharma's studies.

This opens a whole new can of worms. If the Others aren't Dharma, WTF are they doing with all the tests and drugs and stuff?

dammit... Not this again!. Another "Ben" but now russian. Another Sayid "victim" but now because his flashback, he cant torture him. I wonder why this dont happend with Ben before, because he torture him and did this well.

Another "other". Another "hatch". Another stupid game. Another Dharma 'resolution'. Another "we have contact to the outside world and now because some stupid blowup everything we dont have contact to the exterieor ever again". Another explosion. Another "we hate Swayer and we like him lose, because he is "baaaaaaaad" and we like see him eat his own s*it". Damn, are we watching another flashback?. We need another polar bear and we are done.

I just read this on a group on facebook where there was a Russian girl, she claimed this was the translation for the conversation between Mikhail and Mrs Klugh:

Klugh: Mikhail. Mikhail! You know what to do.

Mikhail: We still have another way [out].

Klugh: We cannot risk. You know the conditions.

Mikhail: There is another way.

Klugh: They captured us. We will not give (or let, or betray) [unintelligible].

Klugh: You know what to do. It is an order.

Mikhail: We still have another way!

Klugh (in English): Just do it, Mikhail.

Mikhail: Forgive me. (shoots)

Very good episode. Glad to see some answers. Bea Klugh didn't last very long. Need some scans from that episode, different logos from when Kate was looking for the first aid etc. Shame we didn't see a full orientation film from Marvin Candle.

like someone else said, this episode actually shed a good deal of light on what's going on.

So long as we take Mikhail's word for it, the Others have been on the island for a very long time, and they are not associated with Dharma in any way. Dharma came to the island and the others tried to stop it. It seems that eventually, the Others were successful in destroying the Dharma Initiative, at least the installation on this island. This all raises the question, if the Others aren't part of Dharma, why are they "re-educating" crash survivors? Why did they run tests on Claire while pregnant? Why have they taken over the Dharma facilities and what is their purpose?

Interesting stuff, and personally, I don't mind not getting all the answers. Half the fun is not knowing.

Besides, there's been so much hoopla about what the "answers" are, you know you're all going to be disappointed when those answers finally come along anyway, so why not delay the inevitable?

Claire & Jack are related? Says who?!

One of the theories is that Jack's dad is also Claire's dad (different mothers). It goes back to, I believe Ana Lucia's flashback, where she's driving Jack's dad around, and he stops at this one house while in Australia. The woman won't let him enter but he says something like, "I just want to see her"...

That started the speculation that Jack has a half-sister in Australia.

They finally addressed a season one, episode 7 or 8 question: What was that cable Sayid found going into the water? Yay!!

So long as we get more insight into the island, the Others, Dharma, etc, I think I'll be happy, I just don't care for filler episodes that do nothing but fill space; ie: it does not bring up more questions and does not answer any questions, big or small.

I enjoyed last night's episode, it was great.

Also noticed what Patchy said where you can't cross the line, just like Mr Friendly/Tom said to Jack, Sawyer and Locke in Season 2 episode 11

So what does everyone think about this? I reckon its to stop the Dharma from the hostiles or to stop smokey

It looks dated so I would assume it was there back in the day when the Dharma and Hostiles werent getting along...I would think Patchy runs into it and dies...from the promos doesnt seem much about Claire even tho its her centric episode...lol

Yeah true, well Claire apparently has a plan to get rescued so i wonder how that turns out. From the promo something involves with Desmond so i wonder if we get another prediction?

Yeah its got something to do with Birds I know that much...lol at your sig...mine got removed the other day

Birds? What do you mean? Hurley bird? Lol yeah, least yours is 32k now.

No she sends out pigeons or something with tags on them for them to land somewhere and get help...thats what Claires story is in the next episode

Awesome Lost Home Page :D

I wish Lost last as long as possible, so I don't want ABC to annouce any ending soon. Nothing much on TV is that more interesting to me anyway except a few other shows.

I also have very little problems with Lost, like you guys.

I am taking it SLow, I do NOT demand Answers fast, I enjoy their characterization slowly & appreciate their backstory, no matter how boring it maybe. Yes so NOT everybody is complaining about Lost!

The ONLY problem I might have with Lost is really Sawyer & Kate's hook up, I don't like see those two together LOL!!!

Same here.

It was an awesome episode.

I question why people watch Lost expecting answers- and complain about it to no end. You guys realize how stupid this is, right? Have you never seen this before? Or did you just rent the first two seasons and got all the answers fast?
It doesn't matter if it is "stupid," which I'll not is an opinion, just like me complaining is just my opinion. It is my right, as a customer, to complain. Show creators from Hero and Jericho obviously know better than this: http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-wonderco...ap-tv-headlines

I'm just pleased that Jericho and Heroes answer the questions they set but I thought last nights Lost answered alot of questions that I had...majorly about the Dharma Initiative and the that Cable and the Submarine rumours...for me last night was productive...if every week was like that we have an assumption of whats going on.

Yeah, a fair few questions were answered last night.

1. Who "Patchy" is and his background

2. Connection between Dharma and the others

3. Purpose of the Flame

4. Where the cable leads to

5. Barracks is the "Othersville"

I enjoyed last night's episode, it was great.

You mean the cable he followed from the beach and then got caught in one of "french-womans" traps?

Was that a power cable? why would it run into the water?

Yes, if you watched the episode mikhail explained they were cables to power an underwater sonar beacon that guides Dharma ships/submarines in.

Finally some answers! Great episode, I really enjoyed it. Now I expect the next three to reveal the reason why Sawyer needs glasses.

Yeah the cable is certainly a long cable...next episode looks awesome tho with

the fence

:D

Great ep. While I enjoyed the last two eps, (jacks ep moreso) this was a much better balance. The hurley sawer side story was great and it didn't take up too much time while doing just as much in my opinion as hurleys whole episode. The answers were there for those who want them (and I do!) and it was just great... I loved how kate and sayid both knew there was something wrong, and their short convo about it, and the probing with the russian.

Another great episode. It was good to see Sayid again and remember how awesome and smart he is :p. It was also interesting at the end when you could see him clearly ****ed off at Locke. As well as earlier when they were talking about the bearing they were following. There's clearly tension between the two, i wonder what happens as a result.

    • "just $100 per TB"? Just? Are we trying to make this seem like the new normal? Kinda weird to make it sound like that is not a ridiculously expensive asking price.
    • The reviews you refer to mean nothing. Where there is no journalism there is no reason to call the gaming media's opinion pieces "reviews". For GP games there is indeed a metric for success - increasing subscriptions. Which turns in revenue. The only circumstance in which subs do not rise when great is being released is a Game Pass system where the company is close to fully saturated with customers in a subscription. However, in that case as the theory goes you spend aplenty in all kind of games - from shady live service cash cows and customer offending agitprop crap in purple colours to robust and entertaining single player games. And keep a solid level of profitability. Ignoring the simply innocuous but mid games MGS has released primarily of the second kind.
    • Report: Microsoft to use AWS to help GitHub deal with a major surge in demand by Pradeep Viswanathan Thanks to the surge of coding AI agents, GitHub's usage has skyrocketed over the past 12 months. To meet this demand, GitHub started with a plan in October 2025 to increase capacity by 10x. However, by early this year, the company realized that it needed 30x scale. This rapid growth has caused severe strain on the platform's reliability, resulting in several small outages over the past few months. In April, GitHub published a long blog post explaining the steps it is taking to resolve these reliability issues. In the post, the company also confirmed that it is working toward a multi-cloud architecture for better resilience. Today, Business Insider reported that GitHub is turning to Amazon Web Services to help deal with a major surge in AI-driven coding activity. It is important to note that GitHub is still in the process of moving completely to the Azure cloud. The current plan is to move the platform fully to Azure by 2027 so that it can scale better as per developer demand. Therefore, the current decision to utilize AWS might be part of a short-term plan to meet immediate demand. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that GitHub is using multiple cloud providers with the following statement: For Microsoft, the decision highlights the operational pressure behind the AI boom. GitHub has to stay reliable for developers at a time when rivals such as Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, and other AI coding tools are gaining attention. And the decision to use AWS for computing capacity seems practical given the circumstances.
