Lost - Season Three

he totally kicked ass, i hope he comes back! The Island brought back that Rusian pirate dude.. so why not Eko?
Completely different set of injuries. We don't officially know that Mikhail died do we? No one, if I remember correctly, actually checked his pulse. So he could have been just unconscious instead of dead. Mr. Eko probably suffered from broken bones, internal bleeding, crushed organs, etc. The island can only do so much in a short period of time, Mr. Eko died to quickly for the island to be able to heal him.

yeah i think he was just injured and the island healed him.

It's not exactly the Others - we're not sure yet.

But the whispering is from the Smoke Monster... one of the secrets that we hope will be unveiled this season! :D

I hope we get answers surrounding smokey this season...like what it is :D

damn you and you shattering my dream! ^^

yeah but foam coming from the mouth and blood from the ears are never a good sign =P

he seemed pretty fine when he stumbled on the group

Yeah but then again he may of not been that injured and the Island heals quickly if the injury isnt to bad which is why Eko is around today...

But that doesn't mean that he was injured badly enough he couldn't be healed by the island though. We know that some people can't be healed, otherwise we'd have Shannon, Boone, Anna-Lucia and so forth back alive. Plus pregnant woman wouldn't die either, so the island can heal, but only to an extent. At least that's my current position.

Yeah the Island heals who the Island wants to heal which includes all the ex dharma workers it seems because they know how the healing stuff works while the Losties just think its a miracle...

Didn't they say it could all be explained logically? What bull****. The island can heal you? The island increases sperm count? Pregnant women die on the island. None of that is logical or believable in any way.

I liked lost more when it was somewhat realistic. First they started with the polar bear. Now they have a freaking smoke "being", a blinding light in the sky and random healing? Pretty ridiculous, but oh well. Lost is still interesting I guess, but they could have made it better if they had stuck to believable problems.

Yeah but thats what makes the Island special...thats why Dharma went there to do experiments...because of its powers....but still I sometimes think that an Island that can heal people is just so silly but in a way its good.

Two of the things you mentioned were in the pilot ... actually. THREE of them. The bears, smokey, and healing (Locke's legs) were all in the pilot.

It might be something ON the island, or one of the Dharma experiments that causes the healing as well. We don't know yet. However, they did set up 'healing spots' on the earth with the Isaac of Uluru storyline.

That's not necessarily true. For example, we know that magnetic forces can do all kinds of crazy stuff to the human body. We know that the other's use sonic waves that could cause adverse effects on the human body. We also know that different electrical fields can do strange things to the human body and the others could be playing around with that. If everything can be explained logically, these are some of the possible explanations. While these things may not actually cause the effects that the Lost writes claim, it is still logical reasoning behind their effects.

Like episode said, three of those were in the pilot. That's what's so great about Lost, it's not just an island. And c'mon, 45+ people survived a crash from a large plane carrier. From the get go things have been weird, I see no change in the premise of Lost :)

Latest from Ausiello

Question:Thanks for the Lost scoop last week. But I am a greedy bugger, and will take the words out of Oliver Twist's mouth: I want some more!— Benjamin Flemingg

Ausiello: And more you shall get, BF. Lost's streak of mind-blowing episodes continues tonight with "The Brig," the much ballyhooed "non-flashback" outing penned by Team Darlton. But I have to warn you, it's a dark hour, punctuated by one of the (spoiler alert) most, um, twisted Lost deaths evQuestion: Help me out here. I’m four months pregnant and need as much Lost scoop as possible!— Allyson? Allyson

Ausiello: How 'bout I give you four "Brig" scoops — one for each month you've been knocked up:

1) A classic Lost set piece makes a comeback.

2) Keep your eyes on Juliet's tape recorder. It's goin' places.

3) Someone poses this question to Sawyer: "Wanna zip your pants up?"

4) There's a little post-coitus canoodling within the first five minutes (and it may or may not bQuestion: Am I wrong to suspect that Jack will be one of the five Lost deaths you have been speaking of?— Brandoning of?— Brandon

Ausiello: Yes, you would be wrong to suspect that. Jack is not dying. And remember, I said there will be at least five deaths thisQuestion: Did we see the "game-changing" moment on last week's Lost when Naomi revealed that the outside world had found Flight 815 and that there were no survivors?— Louisthere were no survivors?— Louis

Ausiello: Take it away, Damon Lindelof: "Nope. Not yet. Trust us.... YOU. WILL. KNOW."

I knew he wouldn't die - it was too obvious. But he may yet go away.

I'm not sure who my favorite character is - they really haven't been showing much of Sayid and Locke this season :(

It's probably Locke & Des in first, and Sayid a close second, or something like that.

Yeah I agree with that but if I had to rate the flasback episode with worse at the top it would be....

1. Rose/Bernard

2. Latest Jack One or any to be honest.

3. Nikki/Paulo

4. Latest Sun/Jin one

No, I think their characterization is what makes this show great! HOWEVER Dull some of these people's past lives may seem to be.

Billy Dee Williams (Lando) was in Nikki/Paulo FBs, for God sakes!

Bai Ling was in Jack's FB... All famous Hollywood Actor/actresses... How can you diss these FBs?

I didn't really think the Kate/Locke Flashback were totally exciting either, but like these rest of them they just Enhance characterization. There is No action, No mind-boggling puzzles All the time... and I am FINE with that!

I LIKE to get to know these characters!!! No matter who it maybe...

I don't know what you expect from this show? But these characterization are Great IMHO!

Lost does a Fantastic job at these people's flashback, and shows important CLUES why they are On this island.

All due with respect man, I Know you are a fan of this show, in some way, but how big of a fan are you if you Complain about something that's there from the Beginning of this show in EACH & EVERY episode? The FBs were Never always action packed/exciting, nor should you expect it to!

Comon, You are TOO picky for NO Good reason!!! I STILL enjoy this show the way it is, I DON'T see it as any different than the episode from last two seasons!

The flashbacks may be interesting once in a while, but they are fillers in general. LOST would be much more interesting if there were half as many flashbacks.

Flashbacks are Great! They Hint WHY these people are on this island, (what they did/who really are they?) They ARE on the island for A REASON, it's not random!

And OFTEN you will see people in someone's FB ALSO in another Lostie's FB. Same/Repeating Lost Numbers... etc.

I mean, FB is what Lost is A LOT about, if you don't like them anymore, perhaps Lost is just Not your flavor anymore.

Non-Flashbacks either Develops the relationships of these characters on this island, or Reveal answers to Clues from the flashbacks.

So, the more I learn about these characters from FB the better I understand them!

After 3 season of Lost I finally completely understand what lost is about.

Sure, there is Great Mysteries, and Puzzles in this show, but the Majority of this show is about the Characters of this island. So what's wrong with this show if it doesn't always answer questions? Nothing! The show focuses on character's past lives and present relationship.

Get that right, Folks. Don't expect this show to be something else that it wasn't intended.

The way some of you wanted (NO flashbacks, less FBS, whatever) this show would already ENDED by now!

Let the writers/Producers take it Slow, and Once in a while, give us Answers/Action/Puzzles, there is NO rush for this!

I may be angry if they Kill Jack or characters we like, but I am not angry whatever with the Dull FBs... Oh well, one FB isn't that awesome, SO WHAT?!

Woot!

Jack

is not dying :D I am one of those rare people who

actually likes him

.

My fav chars are Locke and Hurley though. Starting to really like Juliet also. Hopefully none of them would die.

WOOT Indeed :D

I mean, yeah, how could you NOT like

Jack

?

Even though his FB aren't too mind-blowing, but Out of ALL the Lost characters,

Jack

is one of the Best in terms of Moral and Good heart! He maybe Stubborn and Cold sometimes, but considering he hasn't done Many wrong, I forgive that Easily!

I am the kind of guy who like to see GOOD people receive Good fortunes (

I want to see a JATE

). The Bad people either redeem themselves, or Goto Hell!

I hope the writers are on the same page!

IMO, Kate has already redeem herself, but Sawyer, I am NOT so sure has he?

If

Jack

dies the finale it can ONLY mean one thing,

It's a Skate

which to me is Sawyer is gonna totally Redeem himself become a good man, or there is NO way I want to see him & Kate together if he is still a Bad boy.

    • I'm still on Windows 10 22H2 because I didn't want to deal with all the issues in Windows 11, so I waited almost a week before installing the latest Patch Tuesday update (KB5094127), I went ahead and did it, and it was a huge mistake—ever since then, my File Explorer has seen a performance drop of about 30% when transferring large files... Once again, Microsoft has outdone itself! This update cannot be uninstalled, either through the Control Panel (via Settings) or by accessing Advanced Startup Options. The only possible alternative would be to use system restore points, but I’d have to reinstall all app and driver updates (and there’s no guarantee it would work). Or there’s the “nuclear option” of a in-place repair without losing files or apps, but even then, all my customizations would be lost! Microsoft just can’t help but mess everything up! Way to go, Microsoft! But I still don’t want your c****y Windows 11!
    • Microsoft: Windows 11 could finally solve a major issue across AMD, Nvidia, and Intel GPUs by Sayan Sen While Microsoft has been trying to improve it, Windows 11 is definitely not flawless, as even today some issues are taking a year to publicly acknowledge. However, one area of trouble that may finally see much better results soon is graphics driver crashes. Work on graphics driver timeouts, also called Timeout and Detection Recovery (TDR), is not new as the latest WDDM 3.2 also has specific improvements regarding it. Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) version 3.2 is supported on Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2. However, with the upcoming version 26H2, TDR crash diagnosis could go to the next level as Microsoft is introducing a new DirectX 12 API feature called "DirectX Dump Files". Similar to how system memory dump files work when a system crashes or freezes or encounters any such major issue, DirectX Dump Files (DDF) will essentially record a snapshot of the GPU execution right at the moment a graphics-related crash or hang or freeze occurs, so that developers can better understand and diagnoze these TDR and timeout detection errors. The dump will be available as a .dxdmp file for analysis and it will be a comprehensive dump file generated with detailed insights about the hardware, drivers, Windows, as well as the affected application. This should be another welcome change in this department. Earlier at GDC 2026, when the technology was first debuted, Microsoft had shared more details regarding it. The company had explained how DDF is designed to gather data from every layer of the graphics stack into a single file, eliminating the need for developers to manually correlate logs from multiple tools. As mentioned above, the dump can contain a lot of useful details like GPU hardware state information such as register values, shader program counters, page fault virtual addresses, shader memory data, and command buffers. Alongside that, it also captures DirectX runtime and kernel information, including D3D objects, pipeline state objects, device error data, adapter details, and CPU call stacks. Microsoft says the feature has been built around two primary use cases: retail device removals and local device removals. The former allows developers to collect crash information from end users' systems in the field, while the latter helps QA teams and developers investigate issues on test machines. Developers will also be able to include up to 2 MB of custom application data through new D3D12 APIs, providing additional context for troubleshooting. In addition, Microsoft is introducing three dump collection modes ranging from zero-overhead capture, which has no runtime performance impact on supported hardware, to higher-detail modes that collect more vendor-specific debugging data. On compatible Tier 2 hardware, zero-overhead dumps will be enabled by default, meaning developers may begin receiving useful crash diagnostics without making any code changes. The table below explains the three tiers: Tier Description NO_OVERHEAD Enables crash capture with no runtime cost and is suitable for broad deployment MEDIUM_OVERHEAD Provides a balance, capturing additional diagnostic data with moderate impact HIGH_OVERHEAD Collects the most detailed GPU and driver state available, enabling deeper investigation at the cost of higher runtime overhead In terms of availability, the company expects broader release to be around the fall of 2026, which should be right around the time when Windows 11 version 26H2 lands. Right now, DirectX Dump Files are available as a preview and currently, only AMD has the compatible AgilitySDK Developer Preview driver version 26.10.07.02. You can find the official announcement post here on Microsoft's website.
