Lost - Season Three

Recommended Posts

Just think the night when Lost finally ends...it will be like bringing a curtain down on part of my life

I've gone through some series finales (e.g. Cheers, Frasier, Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld, & Home Improvement), but I don't think any series finale will be as sad as Lost's. It has been such a huge part of my life for the last two years.

Dark UFO posted some rumours that are probably false but who know's...

- We'll find out that "Ben Linus", along with Richard Alpert and Jacob, were once workers for DHARMA who also doubled as human test subjects for various DHARMA projects on the island.

- We'll see the overthrow of DHARMA scientists by the workers led by Jacob, who was the instigator of the revolution and the saviour of Ben. Unfortunately, Jacob was unable to save Ben's family which we'll see.

- We'll come to understand that the mysterious (this name is a spoiler until it is told to us in an ep) wasn't the only traveler on the expedition flight to the island (hint: a male was with her who'll wash ashore later), but is in fact a spy of the DHARMA Initiative who's come to investigate exactly what happened on the island.

- The triggers for her visit were the meltdown of the Swan Station and the loss of contact with the Flame Station. A series of "secure" codes had to be input from the Flame to give DHARMA the green light that everything was fine, and to continue the food drops the same way the numbers had to be input in the Swan. The Others (hostiles) were successful keeping up appearances with Mikhail's help until Locke destroyed it.

- Cerberus, aka "The Smoke Monster" was a DHARMA experiment in both nanotechnology and neural networking which was used to guard the perimeter of various stations intuitively, but was damaged during the purge of DHARMA controllers, It has since gone rogue and become self aware.

- The "Others" as we've come to know and love (or hate) are truly the good guys who gained their own freedom and were actively attempting to reverse the effects of experiments performed on them by DHARMA, and the effects of the island on unprotected humans until Flight 815 interrupted them.

- Ben confides in Locke that they were basically slaves to DHARMA and they must keep up the ruse that DHARMA is still in control or they will all die from a common enemy. Jacob is the head "inmate" who orchestrated the revolution, and who remains hidden in plain sight but is still the one they must answer to.

- We find out that Penelope Widmore has been a member of DHARMA all along, and the station in Antarctica is run by DHARMA. Desmond has a vision of Penelope which is frightening and reveals new, truthful memories about how they really met at the monastery.

- Ben dies in the finale along with a few Others, as does Kate and Sayid. Sawyer and most of the Losties blame Jack and Juliet for Kate and Sayid's deaths due to his plan. Jack is forced to go with the surviving Others, and we see Tom by his side as he protects his new leader. From the sky we see images of the island as if from the viewpoint of a coming aircraft. It seems DHARMA has sent someone (or something) to the island and it's not nice.

WOW, :o

Hope kate and sayid don't die,

ABC set to announce Lost end date

Hmm....wonder if they will confirm the end at season 4, or perhaps a movie?

wow, that guy in the video is so retarted, he said abc plans to have the show go on for 2 more seasons, then the guy said the same exact thing..

haha the guy is something

If there could be a LOST spin off, what would it be about, and what will be the primery focus?

ABC set to announce Lost end date

Hmm....wonder if they will confirm the end at season 4, or perhaps a movie?

I hope that they finish it by 5.

What they should do is, they should set an end point early, and publisize it. For eg. Publisize S4 as the penultimate season. That should help boost the viewership and rake up more profits for them.

Since this story launched earlier today, I have been hearing from multiple sources inside ABC that the story is "more complex" than what was originally reported by my colleague Marc Malkin in E! Online's Planet Gossip.

According to these sources, ABC will be making an announcement declaring an end date for Lost very soon. However, the exact number of remaining episodes and seasons is still muddy—and might not be exactly two seasons.

The good news? You don't have to wait long. I'm told the announcement will be made within the next few days.

Please don't make it six!

Don't pull a Fox :(

They forced Chris Charter to make the X-Files 9 seasons instead of the original 5 he wanted - the result was a clear slide in quality and too many filler episodes.

We've seen it happen before, we'll see it happen again. Companies greed for a cash cow > the acutal storyline.

JJ's always written winners, I'm sure he can come up with something else for them. Just let LOST go at 5. Please.

the difference is that all of the X-files filler episodes ruled! plus i also read somewhere that he said that if the rating for the last season weren't so bad, he'd have carried on making more seasons.

Yeah except Six Degrees which is one where JJ has failed at...other then that he has written amazing shows...

Yeah, what happened to Six Degress? It was such a great idea, but just didn't pan out.

It's on ABC.Com streaming now...basically when the 7 episodes are done thats it...:(

I watched the 9th one last night and I still like...its such a shame seeing as Abrams and Burk both wrote it with their production company...

Interesting...if Micheal or Walt are meant to make an appearance in the finale, do you think they make contact with them as well?

They are still probably sailing around

Lost star Evangeline Lilly has admitted that she feels uncomfortable about showing off her body on the show.

The actress, who plays Kate Austen in the hit US series, burst into tears after filming one scene with co-star Josh Holloway, better known as her on-screen boyfriend Sawyer.

"The first time I did a scene like that was when I changed in front of Sawyer and I took my shirt off. I'm very prudish about showing my body, so they built the set with panels all the way around so nobody saw anything but my back," Lilly told Sky Magazine. "After the scene, I burst into tears. It was very hard for me.

"I told the producers before they hired me, 'I won't do graphic sex scenes or nude scenes.' They've been very respectful of that. The only time we've pushed anything is the frequency with which Kate takes her clothes off. They go, 'OK, you don't want to get naked, so we'll get you in your bra and underwear as much as possible.' I've had to put my foot down a few times!"

Booooooooooooo :(

Booooooooooooo :(

Right  Well, I respect that out of her, but I don't remember this in Lost:

Who forced her into those clothes, that's the question. How can you be ashamed of doing it in front of the camera when you're doing it behind it, but still in public. What's the difference? 50 million people are either going to see it on Lost or in some magazine.

if they wanted to, they could wrap it up in 4 just fine. If they tried, they would do it in 3 and it would be all the more an exciting season. However, they'll milk it for at least 5 seasons :/

It has pretty much been confirmed by E! Online that there will only be 5 seasons. I don't see how that's milking it. If they had decided only to do 3 seasons people would be complaining about that too.
