Lost - Season Three

What would be the purpose of the Moon Pool. Why tender a sub where nobody can get to it? I lived near a submarine port for years and the docks for the sub (always covered) were shore-based. Is it for repairs/hiding when not in use?

I read the spoiler for the season finale and don't believe it. It's got to be dis-information. I watched the season finale of The Office and the word around the internet was Karen was getting the job in NY since the actress was going to another show. Everyone was convinced.... Then the temp (can't remember his name) got the job. Total shock but great dis-information spread around the internet to keep the surprise.

In the old days, it was referred to as a 'Red Herring'. Giving the accuracy of the previous spoiler one would tend to believe the second spoiler.

But I could be wrong... ;)

Off topic, but lets try to save another great show!

I thought the purpose of that place was just to hide the sub so noone can get to it or even know there was one...I wonder if we get to hear some stuff about it one day like the main purpose like an orientation video...

I didn't like the Nikki and Pallo episode. I mean, who cares about these people? I guess it kind on interesting to see a little back story, but I think the episode would of beem better served to advance the plot if it concentrated on characters we actually know about!

Remember last week when Locke blew up the submarine? I wonder if the are the island is in Antarctica, and the sub is used to go under the ice. When Penny was looking for Desmond in the helicopter, they were flying over some sort of arctic tundra.

The moon pool was to allow people to get to the Looking Glass to do ... whatever is/was done there. We don't know what that is yet. As well as bring supplies and such to the station.

last week?

everything you just said:

Those people are pretty much stranded....or are they because in the promo

Patchy

is there...so how did he get there...unless he swam a bloody long way to get there...

last week? blink.gif

everything you just said

He gets the episodes late he said in the past...

Plus the fact that it's manned (or is it womanned?) makes for an interesting question. How long have they been down there? They can't know that the sub's been destroyed, leaving them stranded in a way, save for swimming out. The fact that they've got him tied up in the promo is interesting...kind of like they're interrogating him. This would mean there's something they don't know, which is odd for the Others.

They can't leave at all at this point, sub or not. They'd have to spend days or weeks at preset depths to decompress.

That could be an interesting way to kill them; just shove them out and let them drown or die from the blood poisoning when they surface.

Is it me or does the 2nd chick look like that girl from Sawyer's flashback. His baby's mommy.

Looks a little like her, but isn't her.

9 months :D

The X-Files Nut inside me senses a conspiracy.

Ah, that's it! 9 months from now Sun gives birth to "Son of Smokey" who kicks Ben's @$$, gets Richard's help in putting down Jacob, activates the solar defense rays to wipe out Smokey, sends out on SOS message, then goes home to momma.

I should probably add: Son of Smokey also sends Sawyer and Kate away, and brings Jack and Monica Dean together one star-lit night.

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
