Lost - Season Three

Maybe one of them used it as an alias after they got back. Look at the influences listed on that page. It would be a pretty big coincidence that Jeremy Bentham just so happens to seem to fit the name in the paper.

Someone on another forum mentioned that Jacks flash forward could have been a premonition type thing like Desmond.

Jeremy Bentham = Philosopher

John Locke = Philosopher

One of the thing really confusing in this episode is Jack's father issue -

If this is Indeed a Flash Forward, his Dad is Alive?

I suppose.

What threw me for a loop was the flash forward...I was thinking the entire time that the casket was his father, and that Jack would jump on the plane that crashed at any point (Maybe after a shave ).

My theory on the casket...It's either a survivor of the crash, or some unnamed character. It's hard to tell because Kate did respond to Jack saying he went to this funeral with a puzzled "Why would I do that" (Or something to that effect). Another odd thing was that Jack sort of seemed surprised that nobody came to that viewing of the body (Which could suggest that this is a survivor). And it's good to take note that this death is big enough to be a news Headline) I don't think it's Ben/Locke, because I strongly believe that if/or when they do die...It will be on that island.

As for the deaths, I was pleasantly surprised that nobody of extreme importance died (Locke, Jack, Sawyer, Sayid, Desmond, Etc.). We all pretty much expected Charlie to died, and the rest were all 'Others'.

Death count for this episode: 16 Plus the flashback death (casket)...17.

Will be interesting to see who comes to the island next. However I do think Ben is telling the truth, A much greater 'enemy' will be introduced Possibly even leading to a future cooperation between Ben/Others and Jack/Survivors. It might be far down the road, But it could be possible that have to cooperate together at some point (Obviously it's not going to be soon, considering that they are blowing each other up and killing each other).

Excellent episode...Can't wait for Season 4.

Also a part that I really enjoyed was how sad Jack had become. You could feel sorry for the way he was so important on the Island, And now it seems he is nothing to anyone. Especially when he mentioned how he prays for another crash, and how he flys around from place to place stepping off of the plane for a drink, then getting back on and going home.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but that Nirvana song that future Jack was listening to in the car is called Scentless Apprentice. It is known for the lyrics being based on a book called "Das Parfum" by a German writer named Patrick Suskind. In the book, a child possess an extraordionary scense of smell, but has no human scent of his own. Eventually, he becomes a perfumer's apprentice and creates hundreds of new scents. He is taught by a man named Baldini.

Probably just useless information, but I know how books are sometimes snuck into episodes. On that end, I got nothing. Anybody else think it relates to anything?
